We've already made "predictions", both humorous and serious, in other threads. So here are some things I'd hope for (trying to think only in terms of actually achievable, if not necessarily probable):

- Loena Hendrickx makes it onto the Europeans podium (in the bronze medal position, unless something really weird happens). If this is going to happen, it pretty much has to be next season, before the next wave of Russian juniors swamp the European senior competition.

- Assuming that Medvedeva and Zagitova are going to be dueling for the top two spots in the main ladies' contests, I hope there's some back-and-forth to it, rather than one of them winning everything.

- Either Osmond or Daleman win Four Continents, as no Canadian lady has ever managed that to date (Joannie Rochette's heyday, of course, overlapped with the prime period of Mao Asada and Kim Yuna).

- If Savchenko and Massot do another season, they win the European title, the only major one they haven't won together (she, obviously, has a few lying around).

- Gilles and Poirer make the final flight at Worlds.

- That there is some variation at the top in ladies and not just Zagi and Med. Ex. Osmond wins more often, Wakaba sneaks in there sometimes!
- Rika Kihira goes senior and has a huge break-out season, winning the world gold medal!( I know, I know, wishful thinking)
- Bradie T. medals at both her GP's
- Karen Chen goes to a jumps specialist this summer and has a good season for herself
- Nathan repeats as World Champ and GPF Champ!
- Shibs win silver or higher at worlds
- Vanessa and Morgan podium more often than not and make GPF
- ALL SKATERS STAY INJURY FREE:luv17:

I hope the changes to the judging system are used CORRECTLY and it equalises the playing field of women's skating. Realistically, all of the top ladies are doing roughly the same tech content (sure Alina has 3Lz3L, but that's only one jumping pass and it's often questionably rotated). I hope the new system will help recognise quality of elements more than using tricks for points.

Don't get me wrong, I think rippon jumps can be beautiful, but just because you do one, doesn't automatically make the element beautiful.

I would like to see a better distinction or quality elements vs quality performance. Example; Radionova's jumps are not great, but her presentation is. Tennel's elements are nice, but I don't she has commitment to the performance.

I wish that Yuzu comes back heeled and happy and ready to compete again! Then that he makes GPF along with Nathan, Shoma, Boyang, Aliev and Keegan!

I wish that Dance woulnd't have foregone conclusions on placements before each event starts.

I hope that Pairs continue to be a strong discipline and that all the teams can push and improve themselves.

Mostly, I wish that federations wouldn't prop up or underscore just because they can.

Number one hope: as few injuries/illnesses as possible for all skaters!

After that, well, of course I want my favorites to do well and in my dreams Ashley Wagner has a comeback season to finish her career on a high note...

And I'm always here for breakout seasons for skaters from smaller federations, Matteo Rizzo was such a nice surprise in 17-18.

Other than the obvious of fair judging and fewer injuries I would like to see:

Sui/Han compete a full season with excellent programs
Some kick butt tangos in the pattern dance
More excellent and innovated free dances from P/C
Hanyu back to his old form. Shoma continuing to delight. Jin having an excellent season with programs that continue challenge him artistically.
and finally: a national title, trip to the GPF and a top 7 finish at worlds for Julianne and Charlie.

Dance: W/P wins a major title (Worlds, 4CC, or GPF). F-B/S makes the World team. Wang/Liu top 15.
Men: Hanyu two new programs and 3rd WC title. Deniss adds quad, medals at EC, and top 5 at WC. Malaysian Julian top 15.
Ladies: Elizaveta T. gets the 3A consistent again, becomes contender. Gabby wins 4CC. Kaetlyn double WC.
Pairs: Can we please have another year of S/H vs. S/M? Also M/H continue competing and put on performances a la Pyeongchang.
Programs: Post-Olympic year is the time to experiment! Hoping for some creative programs and the program time cuts will not stifle this.
Canada: Retain 3 spots in dance, ladies. Grab additional spot in at least one of men or pairs.

Evgenia to up her tech content and dominate again next season.

- Hoping Shoma has extra weird programs for us this season (no more Turandot :dev2: ) And, I'd love to see Matteo Rizzo solidify his quad (+ maybe add another once he's comfortable with his first?) which he attempted out of the blue during worlds for the first time in competition. I think he has the artistry and musicality to go far now that he's showing potential for quads. Besides, with the new rules proposed for next season, I think his triple axels could get a pretty decent amount of points given their pretty consistent quality.

Less injury/illness than 2017-2018 season (I am almost begging).

Two great new programs for Hanyu :luv17:

Yay for Loena! and, yes, utter wish...S/M winning Europeans...and Javi winning his 7th Euros (there's a record there)....

I hope Laurine continues to hone her renewed jumps consistency and keeps working her way up the ladder with two programs that take full advantage of her good skating skills, gorgeous double axel and amazing musicality.

I hope Vanessa and Morgan keep on doing what they do and get even better. And even better results. GPF would be nice.

I hope all the ice dancers have fun with the new Rhythm Dance, and Gabriella and Guillaume continue to develop and expand their style and surprise us all.

I hope Diana gets her speed up, lands that quad she's been training in competition and stuns everybody.

I hope Aiza keeps going and keeps getting stronger on the technical side to complement her great performance skills.

I hope none of the girls picked out as 'ones to watch' this year have a collapse season.

I hope for no serious injuries across the board.

I hope the changes to the IJS don't make a complete hash of everything for the skaters who have to live with the results of it.

I wish that all the kids in juniors have a season of fun, good skates, happy memories and no pressure.

My only one wish is the Shibs don´t retire.

Just as a plus, it would be...
-Shibs winning the Gold medal (Worlds)
-Yuzu landing 4 axel
-Evgenia getting new choreographers
-S/H totally healthy
-T/M getting choreography at least tolerable

1) Piper and Paul finally climbing onto the world podium. And the judges finally giving my dreamboat husband the title of ice dance world champion. Kaitlyn can share the title too, of course.

2) Alaine getting her groove back and as close to par with Gabby and Kaetlyn as possible.

3) Either Julianne and Charlie or KMT and Mike winning a major title. (Or both of them!)

4) Alexa and Chris roaring back with a vengeance and making Phil Hersh eat his nasty words.

5) Evgenia returning to slay, slay, and slay some more. Preferably with no ringing telephones and train whistles, god love that sweet girl.

6) Nam overcoming his growth spurt issues that he’s dealt with during the past quad, and finally living up to the potential and hype that was thrown at him when he was a tiny youngin’ winning junior worlds.

7) Shae-Lynne Bourne creating lots of new programs for various skaters that I will drool in awe over, as I always do for everything my favourite choreographic goddess creates. ;)

8) The battle of the Canadian ice dance teams: W/P, G/P, S/F and now the Danish team competing for Canada (I’ve forgotten their names at the moment, my apologies!)

9) Both Anna and Elena having stellar seasons and showing the world they aren’t has-beens slash products of the revolving door of Russian dominance in ladies.

10) Boyang Jin winning worlds, bless his broken heart from this last season. :( He’s the ”quad king” who has grown on me the most over the past few seasons, as opposed to Nathan, Vincent, etc. I’m loving his on ice personality, he’s improved SO MUCH since his senior debut in 2015-16.

11) Gogolev continuing to thrive under BOrser and team and become a top contender.

12) Successfully begging my man friend to cave and let Yuzudaughter and I to go on a 4CCs slash Disneyland trip to Cali next winter.

Hmmm, that’s all I can think of for now, I’ll add more as I remember them. :)

An honourable mention from my personal life goes to a safe labour and delivery of Newdaughter, while trying to keep big sister Yuzudaughter’s biased obsessions with “certain skaters” away from the baby,of course. As of today, there are 31 days left until my due date. I can barely believe it. :drama: :tantrum:

Oooooo ooooooo! I'll make my list:

1. Please keep the men's and pairs FP 4:30 +/- 10 seconds.
2. See more ladies attempt harder jumps (Like quads and 3As. It'll make it more exciting and competitive).
3. Keep the scoring the same pretty much. I don't think quads need a lower base value. Smart game plan is what needs to happen.
4. Alaine Chartrand overcomes her nerves and become so good over the quad and makes 2022 (I'm still bummed tbh).
5. Stephen Gogolev having a great juniors debut.
6. Alina Zagitova getting redemption at Worlds.
7. McNamara/Carpenter and Parsons/Parsons improve and rise up in the rankings in ice dance. Maybe Grand Prix medals. Maybe podium at Nationals. Maybe go to Worlds :)biggrin:).
8. Deniss Vasiljevs medals at Euros.
9. Katia and Harley makes some huge strides.
10. Liu/Johnson showing improvement.
11. Loena Hendrickx getting a GP assignment.
12. The USA ladies improve.
13. Vincent Zhou gets redemption at Worlds.
14. If he chooses to go to Junior Worlds, I hope Alexei Krasnozhon medals to make up for that he got injured and WD from the FP at this year's Junior Worlds.
15. Kaetlyn Osmond at least getting a bronze medal at 4CC since she never won a medal at the 4CC.
16. Yuzuru Hanyu wins gold at the 4CC since he has 3 silvers and no gold.
17. Yuzuru Hanyu winning both his GP assignments since he never won both GP events in one year.
18. No one chooses Carmen or any popular warhorse. Like I said, just because it's iconic doesn't mean it should be used.
19. There's a sighting of Kevin Reynolds at the arena during the JGPF/GPF :)biggrin:).
20. Jason Brown does really well.
21. Alexandra Trusova will be able to develop well.
22. Ted Barton commentates for the JGP again.
23. US pairs buckle down and get their 2nd spot back.
24. Astkhova/Rogonov get a medal at Russian Nationals. Must be so frustrating getting 4th place 4 years in a row.
