Having read this before, but only just joined, I agree about 1993 for Ukrainians (my family is from Ukraine). It was so much bigger of an achievement than any one skater ending up on the podium.
This idea that it's a conspiracy if a russian doesn't win is silly. All sports go in cycles. Romanian women gymnasts were winning 3 or 4 out of the six gold medals at the Olympics for decades. Now they don't even send a team to the Games. Countries rise and fall in elite sport.
I'm glad this thread is quite active. It's nice to see people mention some of the older worlds, I was hoping this would happen when I strated this thread. Anyway, as I said before, nothing beats 2017 worlds in my eyes.
