What do you think you read if you suddenly go inside of Yuzuru's head about upcoming competitions?
Is it: Oh, my back!
Or is it: I wanna win!
Or is it: The 1.1 quads, yay!
Or is it: My POTO costume will make everybody die!

"I'll try to do my best.....and I'm going to be happy the day after tomorrow" :biggrin:the first thing that came into my mind

BTW Brian Orser is a huge promoter to his athletes. The way he supports them , the way he talks about their programs, the way his reaction is so loud during their successful jumps (have you heard that during Nam's LP? ;)) it is just amazing! I'm so happy he's Yuzuru's coach.:yay:

They should take Borser out of rink when his skaters are doing big things. Really I couldn't hear Nams program music.
Nam landed quad sal
In background YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Nam LAnded 3A
YEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Borser might be the biggest fan ever to his students. Ha ha ha we need a thread about Borser!!!

IMO, when a strong ever athlete considers his medals hopeless in upcoming tournaments, he should be better to retire rather than to keep staying mediocre. Sports are a cruel world, staying without progress only kills your competitive career.

Just ten months after Sochi Olympics, we see the bronze medalist lost to a young skater in his senior GP debut. Unexpected, but it is a reality! Of course, it will happen to any athlete who is just playing safe cards.

I cheer for Yuzu because of his strong sportive spirits, always challenging himself to higher goal - the more demanding programs or more difficult techniques.

I would like to stay positive and look forward to see his performances in two weeks later!

Plus two news:

(1) The price of Yuzu's photobook is less expensive than others (almost 50%~40% ). Yesterday the photographer answered to audience about pricing strategy in his Exhibition as following:

" As Yuzu has many junior fans, Mrs Hanyu asked to set a lower price so that it is affordable to those young people."

(2) S. Bourne listed on Kanako's coaches in ISU web. What a surprise!

I totally agree with you on competitiveness. Well said.

And can I just say once again how much I admire Hanyu's jesture on his book price affordability? That is so bold of him to ask for it to be affordable for his young fans. Amazing soul.

we might get some more hints on Yuzu's POTO program by watching Kanako's POTO...
Umm, I think they have very different skating style...
Like you know when Adam Rippon was training with BOrser I had a feeling he and Yuna Kim had very similar skating technique. I haven't noticed that with Yuzu and Kana.

I have to agree - they indeed have different style. It is just that I get more impatient waiting for Yuzu's LP and begin to try to draw on whatever clue possible to guess how his LP might look like...

I'm waiting to experience a double shock- first from his costume (it better be a wow one:love:) and then from his performance. And I too can't wait to see his LP choreo. I don't quite believe BOrsers words about it... But who knows, maybe I am wrong.

I think it wasn't him but his mom to ask.

yuzuru's season biographies (translated from the official stamp collection)

*2007-2008 FS - the firebird
~~vid- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tqGkujJGWY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"I relish this program, which I performed in Sendai, my hometown (at Japanese Nationals Junior, 1st in FS). Even though I hadn't enough consistency of 3Lz and 3F at that time, I did skate with almost no mistakes. So I was really happy about that."

*2008-2009 SP - Bolero
~~vid- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahTBC5V1iZU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"The program I landed 3A for the first time. 3A had concerned me, could hardly been stable during such difficult times."

*2009-2010 SP - mission: impossible II soundtrack
~~vid- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHfufKeAHGs&feature=youtube_gdata_player

"I had skated to this music for 2 seasons in FS. 1st year - it was 1st junior season to me, at first I was stuck with doing 3A. After such a disappointing season I had given a lot of effort in the 2nd year. Finally I had two 3As in FS consistently, had enough strength as well. And also this program told me: you have never done it, if you have done only jumps."

*2008-2010 EX - change
~~vid- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZBF3grck5g&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"I think it was really good experience for me, to skate to this song Change (by Monkey Majik, a Japanese-Canadian alternative rock band from his hometown Sendai). I thank this program, which made me enjoy performing, sharing the moment with the audience."

*2010-2011 SP- white legend
~~vid-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KPon1zhlLI&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"As 3A was going to be stable, I had enough scope to compete. I could concentrate on choreography and expressing emotions to perform this program."

*2010-2011 FS - zigeunerweisen
~~vid-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1VT6iqs948&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"I found it tough to compete in senior category performing this program, then I had tried to improve my physical strength."

*2010-2011 EX - vertigo
~~vid-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFeOhU99bec&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"I remember this with a bit of humiliation… and also cherish it because of its solid touch."

*2011-2012 FS - romeo and juliet soundtrack
~~vid-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0bCvXHtzx4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"I have the deepest affection for this program, and the performance at Worlds (photo 1), it did change my life."

*2011-2012 EX - somebody to love
"This made me hyper to perform, such a joyful program I like it."

*2012-2013 SP - parisienne walkways
~~vid-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYkGYMYW69c&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"This program helped me to overcome my weakness in SP. It was difficult to perform at first, but I was going to handle it with my own taste."

*2012-2013 FS - notre dame de paris
~~vid-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A2Fk32p_K0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
"This was a challenging program to me, and also taught me how to go for it until the end."

*2012-2013 EX - hello, i love you
"My first program choreographed outside Japan, it was really hard to perform, but really in-style."

*2013-2014 EX - hana ni nare
"The song of my soulmate Fumiya SASHIDA(Japanese singer-songwriter), I'm connecting with it, skating like collaboration with him. The song let us meet, gave me the courage to live my life, which I'm always hoping to give the audience with this performance."

I was just reading older posts in this thread and it was pointed out that Yuzu got 170+ for his fs when he was 17, 180+ when he was 18, and 190+ when he's 19. I guess we're going to be seeing 200+ this year, huh? (but maybe not during the GP when he's still 19. He turns 20 before the GPF though ;)).
