Russian Qualifiers and other important competitions

Are here any skating pairs' fans? :P I'm quite surprised not to see many posts about Kristina Astakhova and Alexei Rogonov.

Firstly, when I found out that Kirsitina had changed her partner, I was immensely happy. Maxim Kurdyukov was just... clumsy and Kristina outdid him in every possible way. On the other hand, I liked Anastasia Martiusheva but I was fully aware of her disadvantages either. I liked the idea of their pairing then but I absolutely fell for them the moment I saw them at the test skate. Not only looked they wonderfully together, but each of them looked wonderfully in a way I didn't notice before. It turned out that Kristina is extremely elegant, dynamic and has great control over her body being at the same time very expressive. Alex occured to be strong, powerful skater, not overshadowing his partner, still shining tough. They even improved during these few weaks from 1st stage of CoR to Memorial - now they have better fluency and synchornisation. What's more, their choreography is superb, very, very intricate and interesting, the story is clear and absorbing. Keep it up, guys! You are able to be even batter than this :D

I really like them together too! They have gelled so quickly. She is powerful and an excellent jumper, and they relate well to each other. I hope they can work out some issues (more power, speed and a better twist) but far I am very impressed.

She still did some jumps.

It was obvious she wasn't concentrated for skating or didn't try hard enough.

Here's a album on Facebook showing photos of the podium ceremonies from the Singles categories:

It's great to see just how happy the podium finishers were in the Junior Ladies, Senior Ladies and Senior Men!!! You could get blinded by the smiles!!!

...and then you see boys that were on the Junior Men's podium. :disapp: Why were they so miserable looking?!

What a disaster, technically! What score did they receive?
And, I don't like the program: it looks like last year's SP with a background music that is even more meaningless, with nobody paying attention to it and an AWKWARD step sequence at the end

Keep in mind that he was injured not to long ago. Maybe that had something to do with the mistakes. Hopefully they'll be in better shape for their first grand prix event. The only thing that I found disastrous is those costumes. Like ***?

I don't want to be disrespectful, and I know that it is just a national competition, but my reaction to these scores is just: :laugh::laugh:
