I am! Sochi looks gorgeous in pictures. Visiting Russia and watching a figure skating competition is on my bucket list.
 
From Italy is not a difficult place to reach. I think we can go through Turkey.
 
It takes 2 days for us from Moscow by car and 4 days from Ural. My son and nephew have vacation here every year with their grandma.
But I'm going by plane. It takes less than 2 hours from Moscow. I hate planes, but this year Nationals are going to be very interesting :)
 
The main skating facility - the Ice Palace "Iceberg" - is fully dedicated to intensive training sessions for kids from all over Russia. Each session lasts two weeks. THe kids work with the best coaches, choreographers, fitness coaches and high-rank skaters there. For example, right now Tamara Moskvina (who coached 4 Olympic champions) is there together with Tatiana Volosozhar-Maxim Trankov.

The faciity works all year round, and provides kids with everything, including school classes. All the costs are shared between the Figur Skating Federation and Sochi Municipality.

I still think they are in the "we need to prove it" mode, so I really do think they are going to do great.
Plus, they really are happy about skating to Carmen in Barcelona. I also do hope the crowd will help them. :cheer2:
