The good thing about the GPF is, that nobody expected them to be there, so they are the only ones who can go there without any pressure. If they place last, whih I don`t think will happen because they should at least beat Gilles/Poirier, nobody will be surprised, but if they manage to be 4th or even medal it will help them for future competitions. I think, they should just focus on giving two great performances and everything else will fall into place.

I just want to them to skate well (I'm repeating myself here :laugh2:)
I don't really have any expectations it's enough they made the GPF in their first try, so whatever they do they at least have accomplished as much as IK ever did at the Grand Prix.
At this point this is good, but making the Russian team will be even better. I don't want to say more because there are a lot of people that don't wish well, and some others that started hallucinating which is also a bit annoying( let's put it this way.I/Z career isn't directly related to S/K and I can't see how every time that S/K will not do well how some old IK fans will use that to fuel their fan fiction tendencies.These are different teams, with different careers from now on.)

Anyway,my biggest hope is that they will be able to handle the pressure of having two events, important ones in a month, and of not having all the time in the world to do what they can really do.Ilia Averbukh said what people saw in Moscow was 10% of what they are.
 
I can`t remember the last time, I was this excited for a new Ice Dance couple. There is something in Elena & Ruslan that is so fascinating. I liked Elena& Nikita, too, but I think their break up was a blessing in disguise, at least for Elena and Ruslan.

I know that there are still I/K fans out there that hope they will get back together, but I don`t think that Elena would take him back. Moreover, if I/Z manage to be really successful this season I don`t believe that RF would let Nikita again split a successful couple.

Anyway, back to Elena & Ruslan. I think that their potential is huge and the way the Ice Dance circuit looks right now, they have a good chance to become contenders for the OGM until 2018. I would love them to do a FD to Carmina Burana. They are destined to dance to such epic music. :biggrin:

I was in the chorus of this piece, we performed it at our Opera house several times. When I studied the lyrics. There are so many parts that made me :shocked: then I was just :rofl:

I so want to have even a little peak at their new FD costumes and Lena did say they changed the spin. Does anyone know when the team leaves for Barcelona?

They will have new costume for the FD??? Wow! I hope they will choose some bright color.
 
Well I don't think we should take for granted Elena has a new FD dress.She uploaded a pic from fitting, she didn't say what dress it is, and the rest is speculations. Maybe she has maybe she hasn't.But she did say they changed the spin. I want to see the changes, they hit beautiful positions generally and I think they can do an original spin more suited to them

I'm fine with the actual design of the costume, but a different color would be nice. Like blue or lavender.

I think GPF will be really stress free for them, because if they place last, well no big deal, that's what people kind of expected anyway. As long as they skate their best, I don't really care about placements. Just making GPF was a huge achievement. I can't wait to see how they've polished their programs since CoR.

Maybe they should change the music to Love Story. Put Lena in a lovely dress with Ruslan in a vest and tie a la Scott Moir. I think he and Scott have very similar frames.
 
I'm going to put it out there and say they could score a bronze. Their SD scores well. I love this team....
