Random Figure Skating Questions

Does anyone know who has been nominated/will be inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame @ this coming Worlds?

Still hoping someone can answer my question about the USFS ad (the one that begins with Ashley in red, and ends with Christina Gao, with Tara L. saying "Everyone should give figure skating a try"). Who is the skater who talks about getting up after you fall? It sounds like Nicole Bobek, but I doubt it's her. My guess is that it's one of the current eligible skaters.
 
anyone know where I can watch the 2015 world jr world championships on CBC? I am in the US so I can't watch it on cbc website. Thanks.
 
I had a question about skating club representation, which I hear during US Nationals when skaters are announced.

For instance, I think the Shibs represent Skating Club of NY (Maia) and Boston (Alex) (and I see above that they were born there), even though they train in Michigan. Or Ashley represents Wilmington, DE even though she now lives and trains in Southern CA.

So, is it always where the skater was born/hometown?
 
No. Skaters sometimes stay with a childhood club, and sometimes they go with the club where they train now. And sometimes they pick a club from which they feel more likely to qualify for Nationals, given only the top 4 advance from regionals and sectionals. This is one reason a pair or dance team may each represent a different club.

Ross Miner started with Skating Club of Lake Placid, but he trains at SC of Boston, and that's who he now represents, as per his icenetwork bio

The short answer is No, not always.

Examples:

The Aaron siblings both are from Scottsdale, Arizona. They both now train in Colorado Springs.

Max Aaron now represents Broadmoor Skating Club.

Maddie Aaron still represents Coyotes Skating Club of Arizona (where Max started his skating career).

Well many of us have been using it for well over a year without issue. I was using it to watch the BBC stuff before i got into figure skating and was pleased to see the site used the same thing i already does.

So it is safe enough that no one here has had an issue with it after using it for a long time.

That being said, I actually only have it installed on my back up browser just so that if it becomes an issue. . . it is less in the way.

It sounds like Gracie Gold to me.

My two cents:
I always have been puzzled that your expectation is that the voice belongs to a current skater??
Other voices in the promo do not belong to current skaters ....

You're right about that. After all, Tara speaks @ the end of it, and Scott Hamilton speaks early on. I recognize most of the voices in it (Max Aaron - talking about the blade), but I was puzzled about the one who made the comment about getting up after a fall. The voice for that one sounds more like Nicole than Gracie, to me. I say that because Gracie seems to have a higher pitched voice than Nicole. No worries, though. All is good. BTW, I :love: your "Keep Calm" avatar!
