My mom says requiem is Boring! I like it so much.
As everyone says, the camerawork is atrocious. :scowl:

What did you all think of Requiem?
I think Requiem is personal and beautiful. I don't think it is meant to be entertaining but I love how emotional it was. It was so personal I ended up a bit teary in the end. But i agree that better camerawork could have helped.

I think I'm having a hard time digesting it and forming an opinion because of the camera work, it really is distracting for me and makes it hard to really see all his movements and take it in the piece as a whole. I swear there's one section where the angles change about every 3-5 seconds. There are definitely parts that seem very intense, and I really like the music. I might need to rewatch it a few more times first, but I like his performance so far.

I really liked it. He transmits so much emotion and the choreography is really good. But i hate how they edited the video! I'm practically sure there were more angles filmed so it could have been better.

Edit: As well, as i read on tumblr they showed the first program where Yuzu fell not the second which was clean. So they really could've translated a better version and edited a better video as they had plenty of material to work with.

Thank you everyone for the vids. :cheer:

About SEIMEI, despite the bad camera work, I think it's still rushed, sometimes he's just letting it go with his hands especially at the start and at the slow part, the choreo sequence is a bit rushed too ... I don't know, he still need to find his way to move with the music, I buy the concept of the program but not so much the execution till now but I know it will change a lot. However, I'm glad that he kept the 2:28 and 2:33 (my favourite) and didn't look down at the ice this time

I hope that the performance from the other show is better (and with better camera work)!

My fav performance from the show was Akiko's Claire de Lune, I thought it was stunning

Thanks everyone for the updates!! I will try my best to catch up with all these updates!! From the comments, the programs sounds nice!! So looking forward to seeing them!!

Hello again!

Just wanted to say that I did a MAJOR update on the site:

- Added over 1300 videos from both DailyMotion and YouTube (sorry the embeded dailymotion players are so weird looking, I can't change or code it :scowl:)

- Updated the layout and contents on the merch section

- New weekly poll!

- Added an “Off Season” section to the media pages

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone so much! I was not expecting so much great feedback and comments . You guys are awesome! My next mission is to add ALL 300 Sochi pictures as well as fill in all the “Not Available” slideshows too. I encourage and appreciate comments and improvements! Thanks again!

Seimei is looking a lot better in my opinion, both in the steps and the jumps. But as Lambari said, there is still more to do to finish each movement to the tips of his fingers. I still really enjoy seeing it improve though.

Here is another news clip from practice from the Aore Ice show. They all look very nice together. https://youtu.be/fCF2tCY-HI0

and FYI Yuzu had a bit of a rough performance for the first show today, and a better performance in the second show, according to twitter.

I thought that Requiem music was a bit boring, to be honest, but together with Yuzuru's movement it was a beautiful program. Yeah, the camerawork was terrible (the top of Yuzuru's head, really???) and it made hard to see it all and how it all connected, but what I could see was so beaitifully fluid and emotional. And spins, omg, spins were amazing. Even if the camera totally screwed up the third spin in the first passage.

Now I wish that Kenji Miyamoto would choreographed an SP for Yuzuru one day. It might not contain the cool poses and details that Jeffrey Buttle's choreography does, but it plays to Yuzuru's strengths in terms of movement, it allows him to be beautiful and emotional, it's a good cohesive whole. Why not translate it into a competition program? It would be something different out there on the competition ice, no other man moves quite like Yuzuru in these Kanji Miyamoto programs.

From Twitter:
Day Show Seimei 2s, 4T (fall), 3F, 2T2T (tano), 3A3T
Finale 4T
Made a speech at the end

Evening Show Seimei 2S, 4T, 3F, 4T-2T, 3A3T
After Requiem, the junior skaters made an arch for him to go through
At the finale he seemed very tired and fell on the 4S at the finale. Mura supported him.

So close to perfect! Ugh, but seeing Kobe's show today and hearing this makes me anxious for the season to start already!
That is so cute! I wish I could see it ;)

That must have been Gorgeous (the evening show i mean). All the jumps perfectly executed and the performances... OMG i so much envy (white envy not green one) the people that saw it live.

Additionally I think Seimei needs to be polished. It is Great but I believe he'll do it Amazing by the competition times.

As well I can't stop laughing when i watch this part 11:38 to 12:33 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loyVHfCSnI0

Is Yuzu ok after that last fall in quad battle? Mura supported him in term of helping Yuzu to get up or joining the quad battle?

Great, thanks Newbie for the info. Only one more show and I hope he gets a good rest before resuming his training....praying emoticon.

Yea, I agree, I don't totally like the music, but I know the meaning for the music so I'm totally fine with it being the exhibition music :) The first few seconds of the requiem exhibition literally gave me chills and almost made me cry!!! and the hydroblading is awesome!! The entire program is full of emotion and beauty!! It would be such a shame if he don't perform it elsewhere during the competitive season!!

The Seimei broadcasted is probably the best version of seimei aired on tv so far!! (and it's so stunning, I am falling into the bottomless pit now!!!) Let's hope he'll skate cleanly for his programs in the coming seasons (and of course, in best case, perfectly :) )!!! Thanks everyone for the updates and I really love the new programs yuzu showed us so far!!

Thanks for the update everyone :)

Oh my no wonder people are talking about requiem over and over again. It's chilling to see yuzu's raw emotion like that. The first few seconds of the program struck me so hard. The anguish and sorrow emanating from yuzu so surreal  I feel like drowning in his sorrow. The costume didn't bother me at all, I think it goes well with the choreography. I hope he would perform this one at international gala (or with a better camera work, seriously! i will come back to that).

And I can't wait for Seimei's final version. I've watched the movie so I could understand his program better. Lucky me, the movies are my cup of tea  I'm a sucker for that. It's exciting to see Yuzu unleashing more and more of his innate potential. It's crazy to think that the reigning Olympic champion has yet to reach his full potential.

and I just want to have few words on the camera work here. I work at a broadcasting organisation and have seen directors directing live in studios. I can say the camera work here is really terrible :scowl: they were using the high-angle camera for close-ups but failed terribly because the cameramen couldn't follow yuzu's movement very well. unnecessary transitions/cut between cameras and close-ups are distracting
