Keep the reports coming! I e-mailed an e-pal who lives in So CaL about this, thanks to Crazeskatedad & Sylvia here (she doesn't visit fs websites), and she's going to attend the Saturday portion. Can't wait to hear about her impressions.

Oh wow! 2x 70s already and not even a 3A in sight... oh boy this season should be very interesting. Go with the wind: Afterall... tomorrow is another day! Happy hunting 200s!! :)

He has said he is practicing both sal and toe (though I am starting to join the "try a 4F" camp). He did a 2S in the skeleton version and I think a 2S in at least one of the SPs at Broadmoor open so that is why I was wondering if he was going for the 4S in the short. I wonder if that was the plan early on but has been scaled back.

Also, if that's Polina's score in the FIRST COMP(!!), who knows what she'll do this season...

Well, top 2 over 70-that's insane. This speaks volumes for what they've done over the off season. Both have better programs, both went clean, and both scored over 70? Watch out, Ashley. These girls ain't messing around.

I wonder what they would have scored in an 'official' competition amongst other skaters of their level?
I like the way Polina uses her arms. Very elegant.

Thank you lots for the video! She looks very very good. However, I honestly don't quite get what is so spectacular about this program that people were so amazed...
I still wish she would be a bit faster on the ice.
Anyway, it is impressive that she is already so solid with her program at this time of the year.

Don't forget it is just an off-season competition, and the marks are at least as inflated as they would be at the national competition.
In reality the TES would have not been as high, if Polina showed the same program at GP event, neither the components marks would match. I am sure the total would be less than 70.

Good to know. Thought the inflation thing was just at nationals...

Just watched the video and Polina looked like a grown woman (In a good way) there. I'm excited to see how her season will turn out.
 
Thanks for posting the fan cam of Polina's SP. She already looks more mature this season with the black dress and bun (no more braids!). I do like this program and I think it can only get better as the season progresses. Curious to the GWTW LP later!
 
Wonderful and classy short performed by Polina. She displays a certain level of maturity and sophistication in the way she is interpreting the music. This was the highlight of the night for me, too bad a lot of people left by the time she got to skate.

Gracie made an improvement in style by trying something new and it's got good potential, she is becoming a bit more expressive. What worries me is the pattern of nearly hitting the boards on her jumps.
 
Impressive and strong SP skated by Polina! Great music, interpretation, jumps and footwork!
Loved the twizzle and the spiral!
