I'm also going :)
And by the way, my mom and I managed to secure a flat just 7 minutes away from the ice rink, from the night of the 9th to the night of the 12th, and we would be willing to share it with two other people, if there is a need. ^_^

Amazing!!
I would be interested to share the flat... But my trip to Barcelona is still unsure (I can't wait for the answer but I surely have to be very patient...... :bang: )

By the way, are you going alone, with a friend that knows something about figure skating or like me, with a friend that knows nothing about it but wants to spend some time in Barcelona and doesn't matter if she must see soooo many skating?

I'm also going :)

tzazu, I'm going alone...I usually travel alone in fact ^^"

Lysambre : You are fast ! I haven't even looked for booking my flight/hotel. I would be interested to share a flat/apartment-hotel with somebody ^^
Because I'm not rich, if I could have a fridge or make some cooking it will be better for my wallet ! :)

Thanx for the results and the new poll. Tough choice to make when voting for the favorite kiss & cry.

I know I usually don't write here only reading (I'm lazy I know :rolleye:) but I'll try to write a report or at least I will be there with my friend which will be my personal photo correspondent so definitely tons of photos to be expected :)

Photos, Videos, we as hungry (for info.) wolves welcome anything.

Thanx for the links!

+1000 for the two sentences

I really want to go to Finlandia too! But firstly, it's probably going to take a while to get there (2 hour train to Paris and then the flight... problems of not living in a major city :P) and secondly, I can't miss more than 2 classes (of a course) per semester or I fail the whole course, and I'm already planning on missing one Friday for TEB... :S

I notice that your location is France as well! Would it take you a long time to get to Finland too?
Sorry, it took me a while to go back on the forum.^^;

I thought about going to TEB too, but I hesitate a lot. Patrick Chan will be there and I really dislike him. What pains me is that Misha will be there too and I love that guy, so... I don't know. :confused2: I can only cross fingers that Misha might participate to Finlandia too, he did in the past 2 years.

I live in Colombes, which means I'm only 15min from Paris so with "easy" access to the airport (it will take a little more than 1h to go if the RER/Regional Express Network traffic is going well, which is not always the case). As for the flight, I have looked and it should take around 3h with direct flight, and 4-4h50 min with one stop (in Norway). So it's not too long if you're patient and like travelling by plane (which is my case).
Regarding your courses, if I'm not mistaken, the Men competition will be on Saturday and Sunday, which means you could actually come and maybe not miss any course at all! Do you have a busy day on Monday?

No worries! Thanks for replying :)

Ah, but at least the TEB line-up is confirmed, right! Well, Denis Ten and Shoma Uno are also going to TEB, which should be interesting. :) Ahh, why does the participant list of Finlandia come out so late !!

Wow, you are so lucky to live so close! (Well, for transport.) In the past I've only lived in London and Hong Kong so access to the airport was never an issue >_< At least the stadium isn't too far from the airport in Helsinki (right?). And oh, I have to like travelling by plane... Lots of 11 hour trips for me...!

Ooh, I haven't seen the schedule for Finlandia. If that is really the case then I may be able to go, if the flight times are right! Fingers crossed :)

Hm, I am not sure about my timetable yet. :( All the information comes out so slowly...

This was my dilemma too !!

Yup, the list is out, and it's very nice! But still... I'd rather see Misha at Finlandia, so I know I won't miss a chance to see him live, lol!

Mmm, I'll be staying at a hotel not far from the arena, it will need like a 20-min ride by bus, if I'm not mistaken. Though, obviously, the hotel will be more expensive.
The airport is at around 25km from the arena, and I don't think there's a transport transit that directly brings you to the arena... which means that it's going through Helsinki and it can take up to 1h or more. And I don't know how expensive taxis are in Finland. But it's best to look on the websites so that you can have a better idea, because there must be some buses going toward Espoo or at least to the hotel you plan to stay in. At least, the Finnish websites to book hotels have English version. I'm pretty sure it is the same for transit in Finland.

This was my dilemma too !!

Ah yes, that too... considering how many skaters and other people complained about how bad the rink (and organization) was, it makes me wanna go even less, even if they promise to do better...

I'm going to GPF this year too (I went there last year as well)! And here I am recalling the possibility that Yuzu might not have qualified for GPF last year - anyone remembered how close it was? I think it was that Jeremy Abbott had to score lower than Yuzu at NHK in order for Yuzu to qualify (Jeremy scored 229.65, Yuzu scored 229.80 in the end, yay!), and if Jeremy scored higher than Yuzu, Jason Brown would've qualified for GPF. I was literally shouting when Jeremy scored 0.15 lower than Yuzu haha, because I knew I would be seeing Yuzu at GPF (last year). Hopefully everything goes as planned this year, i.e. we will be seeing Yuzu again at Barcelona! :)

Some members talked about Finlandia.. Yeah, I’m waiting for announcement of his entry everyday… Last year, it was around 7/16… Why is this year so late? We’re now in August! I think the possibility for him to entry in Finlandia is quite high though:scratch:…

P.S.@DarR, I added your name to the list. Have a good time! Of course, yuzu shall be there!:)

Same, I believe he'll go too, considering what happened last year. And testing the SP and LP in the Challenge comps is a good way to start the season. Him and Brian both know that. :)

Dang, I wish we knew more about the skaters going there already. I'll buy the tickets as soon as there're available, though.

Yeah, it is a big advantage that both SP and FP can be judged , so they should not miss the chance! (Actually, I’m a little bit nervous for fear of his entry into JO:p.. )

Finally, TV show including the information about his SP will be aired this weekend! The film at Toronto, his interview… Can’t wait to see! About his costume of SP, we probably have to wait till his first competition, but at least music and part of the program will be known:).

This was the killing suspense of the last season - Would he qualify or not - but once he did, and with the tiny margin, I was like  thanks god. Or he may be god himself. That was incredible.

But this year, it should be a formality right ? I mean, such a disaster doesn't happen twice in a row ? :hopelessness:

I'd go to Finlandia Trophy if I wasn't going to GPF. Both competitions will be too much for my wallet. I can always save a trip to Finland for next year. Actually I'd like to go to Worlds in Finland but I fear it will be too expensive and getting a vacation in March can be hard for me. But I'll think about this next year :)
