Okay, it's official, all the top russian teams will be skating at test skates at Sochi: B/S, I/Z, S/K (hi Marina :biggrin:), S/B, Y/M. There is no word about M/K, but if I remember correctly Zhuline said all his teams will be there. And it seems like test skates will be OPEN to everyone this time. At least they're already selling tickets!

How exciting! :cheer: This means we will probably get vids from all dance teams before the GP starts. Yay! :dance:
 
You guys, seriously. Classless, lost respect to men, etc. Why don't you realise this was just an interview with a quite an old man, who was a great dance skater, who has a son and does not take part in his career, simply does not interfere in the programs creating or coaching, he only watches some of the competitors and appreciates that some could come with brilliant ideas even with so many restrictions and demands according tot he current rules. He is a passionate father and he has regrets. He can be bitter, every single one of you could be walking in his old shoes one day. And the only thing that you seem to take out of it is that he is a bad person you can't respect. Do you respect your elder parents even when they are bitter or if you don't get along with them? Do you feel like they are not entitled to have the point of view of their own?
Do not agree but please pay respect to the others.

Oh please I have met old people whom I respect a lot. And some I don't. It's not like because he is old and he was a great ice dancer I should respect him.
I can name a lot of big names with great talents (and I respect their talent too) but I don't respect them as human being. For example Wagner (the composer not the skater).

I respect his achievements in sport. No doubt about that. I do not respect anyone, old or young, who use bashing against others just because they happened to be his son's competitors. That's cheap, very low. Nobody is judging him as a father. He was interviewed because he is Andrei Bukin, OGM champion & father of Ivan and according to him he was speaking as a professional. He is a passionate father, he can be bitter? Keep the ranting at home and act as a Pro, if you are going to judge other skaters. By the way I said the same things to Marco Fabbri's father also (another one who's eating his hear out about his son's rivals) and I would do the same with Bukin if I had the chance.

It's a good competition for them to do. The field isn't super tough, so a win is very possible, but it's also just strong enough that a win isn't a foregone conclusion and so if they do win it'll seem more legitimate. It'll also get them some ranking points for CoC.

Great news, they need the ranking and if they feel confident they can compete that early even better. These two are surely not afraid of competing

We'll have to wait and see. Maybe they chose this one instead so they would have sufficient time to make corrections before going to COC. If I were them I'd like to compete outside of Russia as much as possible.

I'm hoping they'll do both actually, because that surely would be an advantage for the GP season, but I guess at least one is good enough and I agree with it being better if it's outside of Russia!
