Elena Ilyina and Ruslan Zhiganshin: we have long mechatli put "Frida Kahlo" and convey emotion on the ice strong personalities

Today, 13 September, in the arena of "puck" in Sochi held the second open day rentals the Russian national figure skating. On the intricacies of his performances in the long program and future plans to the special correspondent of the portal TEAM RUSSIA-2014 Alexey Kindirovu told the dancers - Olympic champion in the team competition Yelena Ilyina and Russian champion Ruslan Zhiganshin.

- We really like the fact that rentals in Sochi made open to the public, - said Elena Ilyina and Ruslan Zhiganshin. - Skated a program at the empty stands would be very unpleasant.

- How do you perceive these rentals: training before the season or current events?
- We talked about this with many children, the general view of the control team rentals - currently sorevnavanie. We have no right, as members of the team, to speak with the audience not in full force! All come in the morning, warming up as before the main start of the season. One feels a great responsibility speech rental in Sochi. Here gathered a lot of experts, the solution of which depends on our work as a team for the entire season.

- The new program will be updated during the season?
- At these competitions we have tried to prepare a program as much as possible. I do not want to spoil the impression of the audience for us. Still, there is still a lot of work that enhance and add.

- What can you say about your program?
- As a basis we took the story of Mexican artist - Frida Kahlo and the soundtrack of the film of the same name. The program put Antonio Najarro, because no one will open this topic better than him. At first we were afraid that we will show the calories in Spain and Mexico, but not the identity of the artist, but once Najarro showed us first pose, it became clear that the program will be carried out exactly as we planned. If our past program has been frivolous and cheeky, but now we have made emphasis on the depth of the disclosure of the plot. And Antonio is perfectly showed us how best to convey to the audience and judges our promise. We feel complete happiness that our state of mind reflected on the ice with all the movements and emotions.

- You knew from the beginning that Antonio Nahharro be your choreographer?
- In fact, we have about a year to put Frida dreamed and thought about the choreographer at the time. And when it came to the realization of a dream, we thought that only Antonio can understand our ideas, implement them and put right our program.

- At what point in your life and why you decided to put it Frida Kahlo?
- We like her personality - a very strong woman who suffered a lot in his life but still was very positive and carried joy to people. Such serious topics and outstanding personalities show not just a mediocre moments, and is a current personality.

- What are your goals for this season?
- Of course the highest! Now we do not want to talk specifically because whatever goal we did not need to look and work during the season.

The modern feeling of Frida will be refreshing, I like it a lot. The lifts are seriously great this season! Hope to see videos in HQ soon.

Ugh...well...all the free dances need work.

I liked IZ'S FD, I thought it was the best FD from the ones I saw, but it lacked the energy Carmen had. I expected more honestly, but I like it. If I had to pick on something it would be transitions. I thought they need a lot of work on transitions. For example, the transition out of the first lift is awkward. Transition in and out of the second lift also needs work and was also awkward. I think they almost came to a complete stop out of the second lift and it seemed more out of necessity than what the choreo called for. As the season progresses I expect the program overall will flow better.

As an overall package I think I like last season's material better. But, I think they'll do well, especially if other teams like GP of Canada will have awkward easter bunny puke material.

It will be an interesting season.

IMO, they should already book him for the Olympic season, especially if the SD is the Argentine Tango. They just click together.

It is official? tango for the olympic season?
I love the FD, the final pose is really moving:cry:. I think the possible worst critique to this program will be it is not spectacular but none will be saying it is a bad program like last year.

We won't know what the Olympic Season SD will be, but I feel it will be some sort of tango, most probably the Argentine Tango.

HD
I love it, a little rough around the edges but great program. I like the mood and the fact that it's very modern.

I don't understand how or why you compare Carmen with Frida? Two totally different dances, story, purpose, concept, structure, music etc. It should not have the energy of Carmen and it's a job well done that is lacking. I don't know what you were expecting but this FD is way more difficult and full of nuances than both programs they had last season.

The tone between the stories of Carmen and Frida are so different. Musicality anyone?

I never thought about Carmen while watching Frida, because the choreography and the mood were completely different. What I like is that they are moving in a completely different way than the other Russian teams. I/Z are really trying to tell a story, to dance with each other. IMO, this can be a really successful FD for them. Of course they still have to work on a lot of things, but I don`t believe for a second that if we asked W/P and C/B to show their programs now, that they would look that much better than them. I really question what people are expecting for September. Elena never was able to show two full programs in September and now she is.

Thanks to all who posted the videos. I really like the Frida program and can't wait to see it in competition when they're in full costume. I'm getting really excited for the season to start!

Exactly.

I'm watching it again and again. It's a wonder. So intricate. Full of details and nuances. Luuurve those arm movements. I'm having a whole picture right now when they will skate this in competition. :drama: I can't wait.

Well, sure, you are right. I only compared them in terms of energy and presentation. I loved Carmen, my only point was Frida didn't elicit quite the same response from me, although I liked it very much. I think that when they fix the transitions and the program flows better it will be very good.

Carmen and Frida I think are 2 totally different energies. Carmen was fierce and Frida is strong, sensitive and a visionary. Remember we only saw the full Carmen at COC last year. Full costumes ect. We are seeing Frida in a raw sense. I think costumes will add as that headpiece Elena was rocking looked gorgeous in a practice skate. They were able to receive feedback and clean up things out of the public eye last year. This year they are playing with the pack. The boldness of these 2 programs does not constitute a weak team. This is a team going after a world title, putting out material to get them there. Breaking the mold. And I for one am, as a fan, excited for the ride.

Ah okay. You are talking about the presentation, performance, in Frida. It sounded to me like you were comparing the two programs. My mistake. This has been repeated to death, I know, but we really shouldn't be looking full attack and 100& fit in the test skates. Maybe it's just me but I look forward for the test skates only to see the choreography. You can see the potential of the programs and have an overall idea.

Oh my, what a lovely programme :) Can you imagine how it will be when they polish and bring to the GP. Happy for them. So absolutely proud of them. STL made me smile, Frida made me cry :cheer2:
