2015 Nebelhorn Trophy General Chat

Post-SP interview with Mirai from @TheBladeBoys:
https://twitter.com/TheBladeBoys/status/647430386394525696 (the tweet has the link to the video)

The video is over five minutes long. I have not watched it yet.

The Blade Boys have lots of other great stuff from Nebelhorn on their YT channel, incl. videos of practices and fancams of the competition.

Caveat: They are tweeting some, but not all, of the links to their Nebelhorn videos.

Some of their links are in the Videos thread, thanks to Doris :).

She sounds put together and like she knows what she needs to do (though as always whether she can do it is another question). I think it is worth a watch. She evidently was off the ice for 3 whole months this summer, which I missed before this...

"some coaches will even pull their skater off the ice with 1 minute to go"

damn lady have you been watching me compete

The same DailyMotion streaming is what is embedded on the German fed page.

But I can't rule out the possibility that the embedded DM streaming might work better for some reason than the DM site itself.

I bet it would probably work better. The DM site is poorly designed, and all the animated ads, banners, and other videos that display on the page is enough to choke many browsers/computers.

Here are an article from icenetwork on the ladies:

Interesting to hear Courtney say this was the best sp she's ever done internationally. Her personal best is 58.9 so she's not far off from that. How do others feel about that statement?

The TES is slightly better, but basically flat (31.76 here; vs. 31.70 at U.S. International Classic). Her PCS is better at U.S. International Classic (27.20; compared to 26.89 at Nebelhorn)

On the whole I'd argue her SLC performance was better cause she got a ratified 3F-3T (with +GOE) and didn't fall. But she did pop the axel at SLC.

But she scored the same here with more some mistakes compared to a nearly clean performance at SLC (Axel, aside), so maybe she has a point.

Julian Yee (MAS)

saw this kid at skate downunder and thought he was pretty good then, but even then his music choices were...eclectic to say the least and they haven't got any better

sorry grant

Julian reminds me a little of MCM...impressive considering the poor training conditions he has to deal with. Hope he gets an opportunity to train abroad with a good coach.

That American woman commentator is so getting on my nerves. I do not need it. Wish she'd get laryngitis or something.
