CB dance didn't excite me at all. It was mediocre. Same for their SD. Najarro did a better job for IZ and I'm perfectly fine with it. I think that IZ can fight as equals with CB at GP this season if they will be clean.
I suppose it's possible that I/Z could beat C/B at CoC, though I think Worlds is more likely if it's going to happen.
Really? Because with Worlds being in Boston I think the opposite is going to happen haha!
Scoring at Nebelhorn has been interesting... C/B getting much more conservative PCS than they were at the end of last year.
Yes but when you think it's september those are huge marks.
I haven't watched the FD's yet but I was looking at the protocols. Does anybody knows why Agafonova&Ucar got -2 for music violation?
From the comments I saw, it was sort of monotone with no real change in tempo or level of intensity. But maybe someone else could correct me.
Yeah it was a longwinding piece with very little change, but I thought it was beautiful... I didn't realize you could get an actual deduction on that aside from PCS issues.
i) The music must have an audible rhythmic beat and melody, or audible rhythmic beat alone, but not melody alone, and may be vocal. The music may be without an audible rhythmic beat for up to 10 seconds at the beginning or end of the program and up to 10 seconds during the program.
ii) The music must have at least one change of tempo and expression. This change may be gradual or immediate, but in either case it must be obvious.
iii) All music including classical music must be cut/edited, orchestrated or arranged in a way that it creates an interesting, colorful, entertaining dance program with different dance moods or a building effect.
iv) The music must be suitable for the couple's skating skills and technical ability.
-2.0 points deduction
Referee together with the Judges Panel decides on violations of music requirements. The corresponding deductions are applied according to the opinion of the majority of the Panel which includes all the Judges and the Referee and no deduction in case of a 50:50 split vote).
The Judges and Referee will press a button on their screen to apply the above mentioned deductions.
If there is no change of tempo you get deduction.
According to Rule 610 paragraph 1.c): the music for Free Dance must be suitable for Ice Dance as a sport discipline and must have the following characteristics:

Vaitsehovskaya’s and Simonenko’s ramblings could, of course, have been easily disregarded, if one goes by quality of analisys, but they are the two most well-known journalists in Russia who write about fs, and they always side with the powers that be. It’s for this last reason that I find their articles a cause for worry.
These are journalists and stirring up things, speculating, making predictions, or creating stories and conspiracy theories is part of the "job". Especially where isn't much to talk about real skating.
I am not overly concerned by the marks. In comparison to the rest of the field they were the obvious best. They are the World Silver medalist competing against teams outside the top 5. I wouldn't be surprised if I/Z match that or score above it at Saransk. By Worlds scores will be ridiculous for everyone across the board because IJS loves a new world record.
I wouldn't worry, if I were you. Unless you think Russia and especially the Russian Fed really missed so much Adelina (i mean in terms of results) as Simonenko is suggesting, when Liza and Radionova were dominating the whole season. These are journalists and stirring up things, creating stories or conspiracy theories is part of the "job". Especially where isn't much to talk about real skating. p.s. just for the records Vaitsehovskaya called V&T losers in 2012, and she thought B&L should be the first Russian Pair.
No, I didn't meant that as being worried. Just replying that those PCS marks are not low given that is early in the season and Nebelhorn always has been the most strikt panel compared to other B competition panels.
