2015 Skate Canada Autumn Classic International, Oct 12 - 15

Sean could barely contain his enthusiasm throughout the entire skate. It was pretty adorable. I'm soooo happy for him getting his international debut.

Oh my goodness, he's SO happy. Besides being biased because he's a redhead (so am I), his excitement is completely infectious and I hope this leads to many more international assignments for him. Definitely a Sean fan now! Hadn't seen him really before, but I'll be looking for him now!

I love the fact that I can't tell it he's playing Samson- or a genderbent Delilah. Because that is far too much sass for it to be Samson.

Some choppy video moments, but I think he did 3F-3T, 3A with both hands down, 3Z. Was hoping for third, but falls into fourth

This is great- we have an Argentinian of Ukrainian descent who lived in and skated for Canada until last year. Right up there with Misha Ge.

Also Daniel Samohin was born in Israel to Russian parents, who then emigrated to the US (who he represented until a couple seasons ago, now Israel).

satine94 & Sailinggirl ,thank you a lot!:agree:

You're welcome :)

Strong Showing from Nam and Yuzu. Nam is crazy consistent!
So glad my faves did well. Sean was such a darling, looking happy to be alive and doing what he loves.

Congratulations to Sean!!!! Wishing him well in the FS.

ICYMI, Sean also has been doing a wonderful job of blogging from the Autumn Classic:

And USFS today posted a "Get To Know You"-type video about Sean:
https://youtu.be/8Ie8YzenkJI (0:59)

Sean speaks Japanese fluently, and one of the cool  bits of the vid (IMHO) is that he says his name both in English and "in Japanese."
He also gives some thoughts on his SP and FS.

(Too bad that USFS misspelled his last name both in the vid itself and on the YT page :bang:. He deserves better.)

Good for Sean! My Nihongo is still pretty messed up despite living here.

By the way, are protocols up already?

Oh gosh seeing the men makes me so sad, I was going to make a trip to Barrie tomorrow for the Men's FS but my driver got an interview and now we can't go, wish I could be there in person haha, 20k viewers is so high, I'm sure there will be more tomorrow though

Not for men or pairs, but ice dance and ladies are up.

Edit: Pairs just got posted.

Hooray for the Livestream. It held up wonderfully for me. Barely any stops. Who ever managed it did a good job even with all the viewers.

Yes, this was not the case with Finlandia last week where in streams buffered at times. Hope it stays the same tomorrow even if I will not be able to watch.

I must say, I'm thrilled to hear reports that the Japanese fans stayed in their seats for the remainder of the competition. I have to confess that I was worried it was going to be like the Yuna fans, who would buy up all the tickets for a small competition, come in during the previous skater, watch Yuna and then file out immediately afterwards. Glad to hear it's not the case.

Looking forward to watching this one tonight. Raising of eyebrows at the scores relative to the report of elements, particularly of the skaters placed first and second.

Also, :yay: for Emily and Patrick! I didn't see any notice of them mentioned in this thread which makes karne sad. But they seem to have done quite well!

Thanks for the posters earlier, this is the skater I was thinking about with the ponytail.

Meng-Ju has some nice lines. I hope he can get the jumps sorted soon.

The step sequence kind of petered out too....

BTW, Meng-Ju Lee trains in Barrie, and apparently is known as "Albert." (Sorry if I am the last to know.)

Didn't hurt that Sean Rabbitt :) was the final man to skate.
(As mentioned above, he speaks Japanese fluently.)
Sean has an active Japanese fan club. He dedicated his FS at a summer comp to the recently deceased husband of one of his biggest Japanese fans. IIRC, it was the LA Open, where Sean won the FS and the entire comp.
Lynn Rutherford tweeted that many Japanese fans at the Autumn Classic tonight had signs for Sean :yay:.
