I'm not so sure it's the black she wants to ditch, she probably does want to wear something that doesn't look like someone mugged a senior citizen and stole their house dress.

I did not recognize her on my screen at first; she has grown so much, into a mature, gorgeous young woman! I have no doubt that she is going to fight back in the free; very excited to see what she will show us.

Despite the mistakes, I don't think Lena's jumps looked too bad? I said this in the event thread, but her lutz looks bigger than before. That could very well be causing problems, until she relearns the timing.

I admit I'm not the biggest fan of the SP, but that dress was gorgeous. Lena herself as well, of course. The LP will be exciting.

Yes. Remembering her "stoney face" after seeing her score. I feel like a volcano exploded inside of her~ I even watch some Titanic fanmade vid in preparation on her LP haha :)

I didn't think it was all that bad either, but clearly not as on point as she was this time last season. The worst mistake was the invalid single axel worth zero points -- if she had landed the double axel, she'd be sitting in the top 3 even with the other mistakes.

Still a fighting chance for a medal. Hicks and Zijun aren't getting high-end PCS marks here so Elena may make up some ground in that area alone.

I'm impressed with the overall program in general, much more than the initial test skates. It's my favorite SP from CoC! :luv17:

Just watched Lena's short. Even with the minor errors, her program/performance was . I foresee her puberty/growth spurt heading in the Mao/Yuna direction. She hasn't lost her jumping techniques, and she's matured beautifully in just six short months. I look forward to see what she brings within 2 years (when she fully matures).

He dress is beautiful. I doubted her program at test skates but she performed it well here. Shame about the jumps though...curse of the Cup of China I suppose, but hope she does well in LP.

Obviously, the jump errors were bad. What I mean is, she doesn't look like she's on the verge of losing her jumps/suffering from poor technique ect. If anything, I think the lutz and loop look bigger and less eeked than they did last year. And unless she starts messing up her 2A all season, I'm going to put that down as a fluke error.

It wasn't anywhere near Lena's best, but I didn't see anything to make me worry about Lena's future. :) That was my point.

I noticed a marked improvement of Elena's Skating and smoothness this time in the SP. I also thought the height of her jumps were better than ever. I hope she can come back strong in the FS. :cheer:

Finally got to watch Lena's SP! Obviously the mistakes were disappointing, but Lena did look gorgeous! "A proper lady"--like Lena said she wanted to be!

Liza liked Lena's dress too :yay:
How do you know that?? Where did she say that? (That's really sweet!)

I agree, I thought the 3Lz and 3Lo looked really good. I was actually surprised she went for the 3Lo (instead of the flip, like she did in the test skates), but I guess it's easier for her to do a triple toe after that...?

However, I'm actually kinda worried about her 2A--that's the jump she kept messing up at the end of her LP last season (at Worlds and WTT), and she popped the one at the end of the test skates too...

BUT, overall I agree with you--her jumps had a nice pop and really nice, tight air position! I think she can fix whatever problems she's having!

I totally expect her to fight fight fight in the free!!! GOOO LENA!!! :cheer:

Ooh, thanks sabinfire!! Sadly I don't speak Russian...did she say anything else about Lena??
that she's sad about them losing but that can they can fight in the LP (just like she did at SC):)

Now in the spotbox brodcast Max said (the obvious) that Lena is very hard to skate without Inna & that when someone is standing near them u can feel their bond, their energy & that Lena now should skate for her coach
