Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

Elena's dress is I think one that she nearly used for the SD in 2013/14. She posted pictures on vk but never wore it in competition. I hope she does use it for the SD now, the length is much better for her & the sparkles make it all more interesting.

Oh that's strange. It's published on their wall. Usually we can see the pictures. In anycase I can copy you the text in PM, if you wish.
It has just surfaced at one of the Russian forums (you mean the Russian version of Nathalie Pechalat's comment, am I right?). Ok, I'll translate it in some time... :)

Count me in as a huge fan of her gala dress!! Unfortunately I can't stand to watch another I Put A Spell On You, even if it's Ruslena, so I didn't watch much of the performance itself, but yes, that dress is everything

Lena is just a little prude, she hates revealing too much. I like that about her, actually. It looks like we'll have to use hypnosis to get her into that dress for anymore than 5 minutes

I don't know that I'd really call her a prude?

We just have to get her to transfer that non prude attitude to the ice...

That's what I meant..haha..on ice she just likes to cover up it seems, doesn't really like to flaunt it :)

Edit: Those pictures are not recent though, are they?

I like the dress enormously, very sexy, especially the very low cut back, but with one reservation, it reveals too much of her thighs. Normally I like dresses revealing thighs, but hers are a bit too chunky to be attractive.
It is strange as she is relatively slim everywhere else.

She's a skater for crying out loud. Why is that strange? Sorry but this I find VERY inappropriate.

I am honestly  at this comment... I'd hate to know what you think of the thighs of everyone you see on the street then... your pool of attractive women in this world must be very small indeed  It's true that her thighs are no longer chicken-like 16 year old thighs, what with her being a woman in her 20's, but if you think her thighs are chunky by any definition of the word or standard I really don't even know what to say to you. Sorry if my tone is bad but I really just can't even with this comment.

Only one is SUPER old but it's true they aren't particularly recent... these are from her own instagram this past summer though:

It`s true that she usually wears dresses on ice that are not very revealing. I understand why, but I think she could wear dresses that show a little more of her figure, because she actually has a beautiful dancer body. Her FD dress, for example, is fine, but I think the cut and the length of the skirt should be modified to show off her lines.

And I agree that calling her thighs chunky is ridiculous.

Here it goes :)

"Now let's look at Elena Ilinykh and Ruslan Zhiganshin... This dance has already been interpreted by Isabelle Delobel and Olivier Schoenfelder... It's always not easy to perform a program which has already been rendered by smb else, to invent smth new... to impress...

The dance is being interpreted as a great tragedy, which Lena portrays like a great dramatic actress... There is much of character in this program. As for me, I find this dance as an ambitious one, a lot of movements, a profound program, staged by Najarro, a great master of his art, and this is a real DANCE on the ice!..

It's seen that a large amount of work has been done, it's a strong program, it's hard to see everything and to comprehend everything, to focus on technics... There is a slight lack of control, but this is a program which is going to develop through the season, it's not completely polished yet, but by the end of the season it's going to be just brilliant!

It's difficult to perform it, of course, that's why many skaters look for easier ways, take classical programs, because they don't carry such an emotional charge, allow controlling the technics, the movements are closer to natural, and it's easier to learn them.

And here there are more difficult movements, the very style of this program is a very hard work. The choreography is complicated, and it requires a great amount of work, which takes time."

Yes! I love Lena's gala dress, too!

I think she hears these sort of comments all the time. Maybe that's one of the reasons she keeps that gorgeous figure under wraps. Hopefully going forwards she'll just shake it off.

What's hilarious is one of Kustarova's junior teams is actually using I Put a Spell On You for their FD, except it's not the Annie Lennox version.

The male partner has the right idea as far as costumes go. If they want to portray a chaperoned dance party, you can ditch the suit and dress like a hipster

On FSO someone said this was a last minute change, there was some kind of problem & they had to do a last minute change - I hope that's true because it was disappointing just to see the SD again & Elena has already skated to I Put a Spell on You

That makes sense. It was weird that they skated even the RW pattern to I Put A Spell On You. Well, hopefully they will show their new EX at COR.

Thank you so much. You are a gem, as always, in this forum.

Envy is an ugly beast. It's the religion of the mediocre. It comforts them and it rots their souls. Their meanness makes their life looks less miserable and boring. They go through life without leaving any trace and get so used to trashing and slander (subtle or not) until they believe to be a virtue. To quote a book "The motive behind criticism often determines its validity. Those who care criticize where necessary. Those who envy criticize the moment they think that they have found a weak spot.” Blessed be the one at whom the fools bark. ;)
