Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

I like the lift but more over I was happy to see both of them with smiles. And Lena looked like before with that playful look and sparkles in the eyes.

Skate clean and beautiful, Ruslena. Please. That's all I wish of you.
Regardless, I've already decided the one-day European Championships ticket I am planning to buy will be for Free Dance, just to see IZ. It was hard to dismiss Ladies Free the day before, but as much as I'd love to see Liza I love IZ just a tad more.

I wish everything for them :) - clean and inspired skates and a high place finish, as they deserve. I'll have to be out of touch for a few days, but I wish everybody else an exciting and pleasant time. Go, Ruslena! Take the roof down, together with the entranced public! :yahoo: :cheer2: :cheer:

Tbh, though I'm slightly angry that people are writing Ruslena off after a less successful first GP, it's also a good position to be in. Fighting for top spots is more like them than defending it.

These past weeks have been very frustrating. Most people are expecting S/K to medal and being pushed as #1, if you add Nikita`s words that they want to win COR, it seems like I/Z are again the underdogs. I personally like it that I/Z are always so humble and show respect towards their competitors, but I think from a political standpoint, it`s maybe not the best strategy. Right now, I try to be ok with the fact that S/K might beat them, but like they say ice dance is a marathon not a sprint.

I try to ignore such comments about I/Z vs. S/K. Nick must have very good ego and not clear view of the reality. I/Z are the better one and if they skate clean i believe in them. S/K for me are combination of recycled old gold programs and fast skate to mask the mistakes. They had more time to work on their programs but apart from this advantage they are very far from champion material so far. I/Z are more original and relying on their skate skills.

It's frustrating but Ruslena was in a very similar position last year. We all remember how that turned out. Jus sayin.

Good luck to I/Z later! I'm rooting for them even with my limited knowledge on Ice Dance, and I hope they have good results. :)

Good luck to Ruslena. For me, their programs are gorgeous and they have very good chemistry. I just want to see them smile,so I don't care about placements.

Well, the positive side of it is, they have enough time to change the twizzle sequence before Nationals and if you ask me they should also consider to change the SD music. The PCS were bad, even with a fall.

:( Even with the fall the PCS is not good, I really think they should change the SD. It's a shame but it's just not being rewarded and there is no room for error this year. Less than 8 on SS & TR...

I can't lie, I am very sad about the mistake, but honestly, it is better that it happened here than at a more important competition, like Nationals. I know they had an outside chance at the final, but it truly was an extreme outside chance, so nothing major is really lost by this. I was of course really rooting for them to go clean and medal but what's done is done and we all just have to try to move past it and wish them well in the FD here, and more importantly at Nationals. Of course I also hoped for them to gain momentum before nationals here, but gaining momentum wouldn't have helped them if this mistake had happened at Nationals instead, so I'm just going to take a deep breath and try to move on.

Good luck to them tomorrow in the free :cheer:

I think they actually added a beat over the SD music today to make it clearer? I forgot that after the twizzle but I think that's an indication they plan to stick with this music and 'make' it work.

There are so many great Waltz musics out there. Just pick one, change the twizzle sequence and move on from this awful GP season.

Obviously though the PCS would have gone higher if he hadn't fallen...
