Mikhail Kolyada

He had the competition in Australia once, so I think he know about all difficulties. Hope he will cope with them in a good way and get also good experience.

Oh you're right! He had JGP Brisbane in 2011 which was his debut in the major international scene... it makes me think how far he has come in 5 years, after the injury he had, now to debut at the World Championships. Honestly I'm super nervous right now but I do hope he is excited about this :agree:

Seemed to me that he changed the finishing choreography

Few updates:

TCC
He is nominated in the Captain's Pick (Fan vote) at Team Challenge Cup. For European men, you can pick from Mika, Max Kovtun and Alexei Bychenko. I'm not 100% liking the idea to let the fans vote, but anyway, vote for him if you wanna see him at TCC :)

Interview
Little interview about the coming World Championships and the much discussed Meldonium. Basically, he says he doesn't know how the drug affects the body and he has never used it.
http://spb.sovsport.ru/news/text-item/889229
-Contact of the Russian national team at the World Cup was not unexpected, aware that I will play there. Now we have to continue to work, work hard in training and try to show their maximum. About a particular place I do not reflect on the tournament, I just want to make two pure rental. It will outline the problem and the World Cup.

- 7 March it was reported that Ekaterina Bobrova got on prohibited drugs.
- Yes, I heard about it, but did not communicate with a beaver. The point I know there meldonium found. I knew that it was banned.

- Prohibition notified coach?
- I learned about it from the news.

- And how to make sure that under the ban, and what is allowed?
- No new tablets do not drink, and on all issues consult a doctor.

- How "Mildronat" still helps the athlete?
- I do not know I have it in principle and had not drank - Kolyada said.

Plushenko Interview
Plusehnko talks a little about him in the recent interview.
http://www.sovsport.ru/gazeta/article-item/889258
- How do you refer to the thesis that Asian skaters body structure helps to make quads?
- Indeed, the structure they have more. Low rise, they land like cats. But this does not mean that it is impossible to deal with them. I want to mention our good athlete - Michael Kolyada. I really like and skating and jumps. There are other athletes.

- If Michael Kolyada turned to you for help, what would say?
- I am ready to help him. We are discussing this issue with the federation.
Wonder what he means by discussing this issue with the fed...??

According to the statistics on fskate, Sasha is about 3cm taller (170cm vs 167cm). In skates though (which is probably what they are wearing in the photo), they are basically the same height. Sasha's boot heels are extremely low, the same thickness as regular mens dress shoes.

Oh I remember your post few days ago about his boot heals... and you must be right, Sasha did look taller in the New Year's massage clip where they weren't in the skates.

I wish he could join Team Europe for WCC this year. I know it's kind of wishful thinking but I went and voted for him.:)

I'll vote from my 2 comps at home +my sis is going to vote from work & her place too!

btw does clearing cookies work in this case?

Mika will be in Boston, yaaaaaaaaay!!! :dance3::hap93::cheer:

I'm also excited we can vote for him for the TCC... already did, of course. And I just wanted to point out, so far, there seem to be 21 votes from Germany... and 20 of those went to Mika. Just saying *proud*

Mika on the team :clapper:

Already voted - is it possible to vote every day from the same comp? I guess not;)

Remind me how the starting order is determined - by Worlds standings or Seasons World rankings? (Mika is 27th WS and 9th SWR )

Maybe they're discussing his being a technical consultant/specialist for Misha or something like that in a more official capacity? Not just some unofficial "friendly advice"? Perhaps? Just a guess...

That'll be interesting. Mika has a great jumping technique but he just can't land them always and Plushy is one of those miraculous jumpers who can land them no matter what...

It's WS, he'll likely be in the third last group I guess?

I wouldn't say this loud but you can vote as many times as you want if you delete cookies... the way Russians are voting for Mika over Max is just... :scard7:
I'm trying not to get too keen on this voting thing tho.

Misha is only the third right now and I don't think it is possible for him to win... And yes, you can vote as many as you want, but I am not sure it will help, unfortunately. I really hope to see Mishenka on TCC, but it probably will be Max there

Thanks for clarification. Yes, he is 17th I think (less skaters not going to Worlds) so he will be in the third group. He needs a clean sp.

Re Plushenko It could be a very interesting partnership not only Plush can help with jumps but also with mental preparation. I think the Fed is desperate to get fast results where men concerned so they would anything to help.

I am really worried about Boston. There will be a lot of pressure on Mika to keep the spots, it has been the long season, I hope he's got enough energy left for this last & most important of all comp

I noticed that relatively few Russians voted though most of them for Mika :) It's a huge country and USA, Japan or Korea voted so much more. Russians just need to be more activated since the voting end on April, there is still a lot of time for him to win with Kovtun :)

The polls are open through April 4 and there has already been some flux, so I don't think it's impossible. Whatever happens at Worlds may influence the votes quite a bit.
