Sui just lost her edge going into her sal.

And that's a wrap!

Ah what a pity.
Still sad that Yu/Jin (IMO China's most consistent pairs jumpers at the moment) are at home

Thanks btw for the updates! Any training bits about Valentina and Ondrej?

Current status: rewatching videos of the Shibs and Elena. I call it "Emotional Preparation." :p

This is from FSU:
Back in time for Marchei & Hotarek's SP run through.

Sbs 3 Sal (she doubles), 3twist (scratchy landing), throw 3 lutz (step out), L2 death spiral, step sequence (some bobbles from her), L3 Pair spin (last position short of rotation.)
Since you'll be there in person, send good vibes to Gracie too!

(I think you and I are the only Gracie fans I know here offhand. :))

Ummm, I'm a Gracie Fan. So now you know another person! I cried so hard at her Nationals FS

So is there any chance of possibly chatting with the skaters before/after practices? Or totally off limits? And also, I assume video & photography is generally allowed?

The dancers were here. I was taking photos and got some awesome ones of both couples especially Stepanova/Bukin!!! They both skated their FD. S/B music isn't so bad live. Nikita twizzles :shock2:
I really don't know what should be done about those? At this point it's clear that it's not an issue of work or inattention or even nerves (though perhaps nerves make them even riskier?), it's ingrained bad technique he learned as a kid/young teen. He's been somehow surviving with them through what has been on the whole a very successful career anyway and for how unstable they look, IMO the trainwrecks he produced on them throughout the years weren't even that many. He's in his mid-twenties now, can something be even done about them at this point or will it be a game of roulette at every competition? And I don't know if Zoueva's team has someone who would even attempt an overhaul on that front. Perhaps Scali, he seems responsible for tech and such?

ETA: Just watched a short video of the twizzles at practice. It just really proves my point about how "successful" he is, comparatively speaking, at somehow coping when they are off and completing the rotations. How does he survive them? And yet, more often than not, he does...

Thanks loads to everyone who has provided practice reports! Much appreciated!

:otopic: No matter how many times or how many ways you repeat this, karne, that doesn't make it true.

Adam Rippon IS the current US Champion and will remain so until next year.

What's disrespectful is the way you keep trying to deny or diminish Adam's accomplishment.... which was one of the high moments of the 4-day senior competitions.

Word. There is a reason I have negative nellies like that on ignore - especially during a major championships.
