German ESP is even worse. I love ski jumping. But I get totally stressed out when Eurosport is broadcasting a rerun of a ski jumping event instead of a live figure skating event. Happens even on ESP.2.

Well, in Poland both Ski Jumping (which I love) & Snooker has priority over Figure Skating very often. Not to mention Bundesliga. :scowl: I end up watching FS on Rai Sport very often, despite not understanding pretty much anything. But this year due to time difference I wasn't watching neither SP nor FP live. I checked the results first thing after waking up & both days the results were so favourable for Mika, I was so happy for him :luv17: And I still am I hope the Fed will be sensible about his result, and won't be putting too much pressure on him. I think it might be really hard for him to repeat that next season. But I believe by the time of Olympics everything would be possible!

What seems to be expected of him next season is to prove that this season wasn't a total fluke. That is the impression you get from all the comments.

cathlen!May I explain the situation a bit. When Misha invited me as his friend I sarted posting on his VK page. Normally people post some pleasant and interesting things for the owner of the page that is for Misha. By chance I saw on your forum 3 questions for Misha and a nice post from one member saying that whenever she is tired or in distress she re-watches Misha's SP and smile comes back to her face. I took this info and posted it on Misha's VK page. I had absolutely no idea about any of Yulia's plans. You know what she did seeing my post on Misha's page? First, to my great surprise she demanded that I immediately delete my post; second, she quickly put her own post asking Misha not to read mine and not answer it as I'm a very inadequate person(!). Luckily Misha never commented on this . But I presume now you see why her post bothered Misha and how rude her behaviour was to me.

I don't think I'm wrong. I wrote "And he said that Kolyada is a difficult student, maybe he's even happy about not having him in his group. Who knows.". I only wanted to point out that there's another point of view on that matter than yours.
And I cannot imagine Plushenko being rude to Mishin. I think that Mishin meant (again, I think, not I know ) that he doesn't like pampered students and that the best students have a strong will and that they don't back down. That "hooligan" translation doesn't sit well with me. I don't know if you understand Russian, I don't and I think that sometimes the translations, even the non-automatic translations aren't very good.
But anyway, Kolyada isn't Mishin's student, but I'm pretty sure that Mishin is happy that Kolyada is a strong skater from St. Petersburg.

I really don't want this discussion to go on but just to clarify I am fluent in Russian and my translation is accurate.

No I don't mind I was disappointed in the way the pictures turned out so that's why I published them on my VK page instead of Flickr. But as long as you guys are happy, I'm happy

As far as my impressions, well Mikhail has surprisingly high jumps. He did a quad toe right in front of me and it was HUGE :shocked: Great speed and flow across the ice. Also commits to the choreography and sells the story well. The audience loved him and his style. The guy sitting next to me thought he was Kulik reincarnated. Oh and he we was very friendly to his fans. Signed autographs, took pictures, it was great to see :agree: He really did seem to be enjoying it all. Plus he was as cool as a cucumber during his practice sections, very calm, relaxed and clearly prepared!

Yes many comment on his likeness with Kulik. BESP guys said his jumps remind them Yagudin. But I'd like to think that Mika is unique and not like anyone else

I think his style and personality are uniquely his own, and I think this comes across very well when he skates. Having technique similar to some of the past greats, on the other hand, can only be a good thing.

Obviously one does not want him to be dubbed "the next... " anyone, as he's the first himself.

His hand is still bandaged so I guess that has something to do with it. No, I don't think they would pull him for another reason. It's not really a serious competition.
