Yes, Gubanova deserves to be mentioned. But she had problems of stability last months.
So let it be good surprize if she will skate well, instead of bad surprize if we will wait good skating from her but she will not.

She looks taller and more grown up then ever! And the last video is only two or three months old :eeking:

She has such elegant, soft hands. I watch this 13yo, then recall Gracie and always ask myself: can it be trained?
 
Lozko is a bit wildcard for me. I think of all the Juniors she has the it factor. Very interesting and modern in presentation but also very poor in her jumping elements.

That's an interesting soundtrack to pick for Stanislava's SP :laugh: That youtube user sometimes gets it right and sometimes misses. I think this one works. Stanislava's skating is powerful enough to carry it. I like that she doesn't go for pretty princess programs but actually portrays a villain here. There are too many ice princesses out there already.

Anna is 18 already and looks her age, so the "puberty monster" is almost certainly finished with her. Her problems if they occur will be of a different nature. Julia... it would be great to have her back but I am still not sure how realistic it is for her to get her jumps together in a manner which is at all stable. I wonder if it is Eteri who is responsible for teaching her bad jump technique, or she simply couldn't jump any other way and her jumps were going to fall apart no matter what. She doesn't have Anna's build which the puberty monster tends to go easy on (in an upside-down world where having an hourglass figure is considered a catastrophe).

She has 3Lo-3Lo, hardly made a fall all season, and has good control of her landings, so I wouldn't quite call her jumping elements very poor. I think most of her jumping problems could be alleviated if she got a bit more height, which should be achievable. She has very impressive edge control, snappy turns, and her spins are to die for, and if there's a good place in the world to address jumping technique, Mishin's group is certainly one. I think that her success this coming season will depend on good choice of programs to showcase her strong sides.

Very true about Anna. I think a lot of us - including myself - forget that Anna is actually younger than Liza, Adelina, etc. and only two months older than Yulia. She's had a very womanly figure for a few years now, making her look and seem older than she actually is.

I think next season will show. Looking at her recent pictures I can't help but see that she has become more "womanly" namely in the breast area. Hope it will change nothing in her speed, jump power, and flexibility.

There were some reports that Anna worked with Kudryavtsev on her jumping technique the whole last season resulting in more secure landings which we could see at the Worlds. I have high hopes for Anna now when her jumps are more secure, the confidence can only grow and hopefully the artist in her will shine through too. I hope for better costumes as well.

Of course Alisa Lozko's jumps are not very poor.
But her 3Lo+3Lo (she makes it only in SP) often is 3Lo+3Lo<, 3Lz - 3Lze, one or two URs in FS. And she lands 3T+2A+SEQ instead of 2A+3T which has higher base value.
So she needs progress in jumping elements.

And because 3Lo at season 2016/2017 is solo jump for Juniors she needs to change jumping content in SP.
 
Regarding scoring of juniors and underrotations, can someone explain what this means: 3F+1Lo<+3S? How do you underrotate a half-loop? (This is from one of Konstantinova's protocols).

I think that's mainly because she's been in photoshoots where they often try to accentuate one's assets. In skating the bigger issue is having broad hips, which Anna does not have. I'm curious to see if Anna can keep the positive momentum she gained at Worlds going through next season. She was a very strong competitor when she was on the JGP and her first year in seniors so I really do think confidence is a big factor and that she does have the mentality to be a good competitor. Hopefully the World medal will help her believe in herself and we will see Pogo at her best leading into 2018.

You can underrotated half loop exactly the same way as you can underrotate any other single jump. Half loop is a full revolution jump. It is used as a connecting jump, so it is more like a tiny (low) hop, which in some instances makes it underrotated. Half loop is called half loop because it is not landing on right back outside edge, but on left back inside edge (for CCW skater)

I have a friend who was attempting 2a-1lo-2s and got the 1lo called under rotated. :laugh: It can and does happen and it's hilarious to both me and my friend ;)
