Has everyone seen this? Yuzu's SP in HD. It looks much, much better in HD. The performance and the costume.

I'm not sure if this will do, but this is a YTvideo of the 6 minutes warm up.

Look at this 6 minute warm up video... he is totally invisible... can you spot Yuzuru?

SP

This is where he stumbled on the hole on the ice, my friend has just sent me this gif: http://ww3.sinaimg.cn/large/6cd7cd37gw1f8cjlnn0mcg209s05k1l1.gif

I guess that's why he popped the 4S. Such an error on ice surface.

Brian says he's satisfied. He feels everyone seems to like this program.

Today's TV news clip. Last part is his interview. The comments are the same on the previous articles. With the first 4ltz people may get surprised, but it doesn't concern him. He just "kuyashii"for failing to complete the program.

Okay, I couldn't watch at noght but I've caught up on the SP and

Omg Specs thank you because I was about to complain about the costume like there's no tomorrow, that it's too white, you can't see the body silhouette or the movement well on tv, etc etc. But HD makes such an unbelieveable difference!, I'm actually OK with the costume. I'd rather have something dark, because c'mon, that slide on one knee would look so much cooler in dark costume, but I don't dislike it anymore.

Other than that, I really like the program. Not much of a Prince fan but I do enjoy the music cut, the spoken part actually fits, the step sequence looks fun and the 3A is choreographed amazingly, so effortlessly fits the music. The jump is truly a part of the choreo.

One criticism I have is that Yuzu seems too loose, especially at the beginning. Hope it'll get better in time!

Next is axel.... I just want him to take care of his health, but our boy tried to make second toe loop to 4t... :drama:

Guys, did he really intend to throw a 4T after failed salchow or it's just people enjoying themselves with speculations? I did notice that his rotation for 3T was unusually fast.

Seriously I don't know... He actually fell on the 3T because it was OVER-rotated... But was it on purpose, attempting a quad? Guess we'll never know.....

I also noticed he seemed amused by his fall, like "Why did I even do that?" and he even lost concentration for the spin. But I tend to think that if he had a real intention of throwing a 4T, he would have rotated much more, and did at least at 4T<<. So maybe he just rotated too fast in the rush of "crap, I missed the quad but I have to pull out that combo"

Sorry for the double post, I mistook the edit and quote button :palmf: (guess I should post more :sarcasm:)

I don't think he meant to go for 4T. His takeoff for 4T is totally different to 3T anyway. I think it may have been all the momentum he generated for 4S that went unused that made him overrotate the 3T.

I don't think he's that desperate personally. Not at this point. His chance to succeed with 4T was critically low. And has he ever done this trick in his career? No right.

He has, even a 4T-3A sequence.

But don't think this was his intention, it's just an OR 3T. I think he got thrown by that stumble with the hole and messed with his concentration.

I think what they meant is having a 4T at the end of a combination. I have never seen him doing it. And he's already making too many changes to, on top of that, attempt a quad, after botching a quad, with no speed at all. That's just begging for an injury.
To me at least, it just looked like an overrotated 3T

It was definitely OR 3T to me. It's very hard to go for full combo after missing the first jump (esp. a quad), so it's very likely that he lost focus after that 1S and went too hard on the 3T. Nothing strange, that can happen to any skater. :)

I don't think he was attempting a quad. I think he had too much extra energy when he popped the 4S and that made him over-rotating his 3T.

It was just the beginning, but I am very, very happy for him. This program is still being built and I believe we will have many surprises during the season. See him healthy and happy skating was my great joy. Their energy was poured over ice and your fire is just beginning to flow in this program, but I loved. It was electrifying and has everything to be a great SP. After all he's been through and months of his absence I can only be happy, despite failures. I also believe that the hole in the ice changed its concentration.
I love your 3A, but is welcome 4LO. It was beautiful. Congratulations Yuzu. I do not fall in love for his costume, but Yuzu and everything is so beautiful in it.
Ganbatte Yuzu!

I just rewatched the SP again. (Damn this thread move so fast)

TLDR Warning

I don't wanna comment on a program so early in the season because i think it is unfair due to it not being skated to its full potential yet and the skater has not get used to it (yet), but I will comment on my first impression. Generally, I like this program more than PW (I am actually one of the people who never really warm up to PW, though I don't hate the program too). This program seems like a love it or hate it kind of program, as in you either like it a lot or you can't stand it (or it just doesn't faze you lol). I love a lot of details in the choreography, i think Jeff did a good job in choreographing it, but I am not going to lie there are some cringey part too (personal taste ). I also don't see it being reminiscent to Javi at all, rather that for me it is more reminiscent of his past program: parisienne walkways. But just from the practices and this SP performance alone, I can already tell he has improved a lot from his PW days, I think his upper body movements are better and he has better flow. It is clear many many people love his rockstar persona aside of his dramatic persona so I don't see anything wrong for him to take this approach. Overall I think this is a solid program. Can't wait to see it fully grown. :luv17:

For costume : I am desensitized actually, I survived RnJ2 and NDP costume (also requiem) nothing he wear can even faze me anymore

Besides, we have to remember what jump caused his foot injury, the 4T. He was taking it relatively easy with it to avoid hurting himself again. So it would be highly unlikely that he would like to tackle a 4T like that, I think.

Even if he were not injured, I doubt that he would think of adding 4T right after a pop jump without any speed, it's technically from a standstill without momentum.

I loved PW from the very first viewing, yet so many people here hated it upon first viewing... I even recall negative comments about his coaching staff changing his style and trying to make him more N.American etc.. For many it took some time, but they eventually liked it, or even loved it, while others still only appreciate it because it was good. I think because I loved PW right away, and this is similar in attitude, I fell in love with this right away... ... just not that %^$# costume!!

It's personal taste and that can't be helped. All you can do is appreciate the skating if it is done well and hope he enjoys it and performs it to the best of his abilities. We all want him to win and for him to enjoy his skating, it's lovely to see him smile while skating, so our end goal is the same. And, the more variety he has, the more experimentation he does, the better he gets. He needed a real contrast to Chopin, and this is definitely that.
