I feel Ya, those pants.........my new boobskirt and NDP , I am angry, worried , shocked same time... but honestly as long as he does well and stays healthy he can skate with pink dress on even naked.

Most fans would be happy to see him skate naked... oh well

They didn't break me, but I certainly went "whut?" seeing his costume. I was prepared for mesh and glitter or a shiny button-down, but I would have nver predicted the white pants. I actually love the fact that he managed to really surprise me.

Question: was anybody relieved that Yuzu wasn't clean in SP? Not secretly disappointed but actually relieved? I did. I felt like he needed to start with major imperfections in order not to jinx future competitions and felt myself going "thank god he's getting the mistakes out of his system".

I think so too. Before the SP I already sensed that he would mess up the combo in SP lol.

For some reason I am not afraid of what the free program will bring, costume wise. I do not think we can get any worse than the sparkling lettuce, or the boob...

At this point, I'd take anything over the white pants, *anything*.

But... if this makes him happy to skate in this outfit, then who am I to argue against it? I'm already getting my dream come true tonight with Hanyu skating to Joe Hisaishi music, what more could I possibly ask for this season? I don't know a matching English phrase, but in German I'd say that this is like choosing between pest and cholera :roll9: ..... can we get shiny black pants that don't look like they're made of cheap plastic bags from a discounter store?

I was quite relieved because he has the tendency to want to top himself and if he was perfect here, there would be the pressure to "be nothing less than perfect" in every comp from now on. I just hope that it doesn't affect his FS performance here.

I have to say that I agree with mostly everyone who wants Yuzu to change the color of the SP pants, would a mid-grey tone work instead of white perhaps? Or even the shiny black pants he wore for "Hello I love you"? I do kind of wish there could be a costume change for the SP, but who knows.

I would like each performance to build and keep building until Helsinki. I am ok with little errors leading to clean instead of a repeat of last year's pressure.

I could accept feathers, ruffles, even a bird on the shoulder if the pants were dark, yup, I could. Considering I am from the less is more camp, it is a big step for me.... that is how much I hate the white pants.

Am I part of the minority who love the white pants then? He's like a bedazzled angel waiter serving us heavenly figure skating blessings. Picture him with white fluffy wings and a halo to match and it might grow on you.

Though I am 100% sure the moment he hits Japanese ground he'll have it altered for either more ruffles/gems/sparkles or a combination of all three. He's Yuzu afterall.

As for a clean program, I wasn't relieved per se. I certainly would like a cleaner one than last night because I think things like that hole annoy him quite a bit as it's not his fault but fate but it's not important. I am just crossing my fingers for a good FS tonight!

Good question - I guess it depends on the material. I'd go with the white pants and dye the ice.

See, if you go Waaayyyy over the top, then it's so bad that it's good. You just have to own it. If he can own it, go for it. I cannot believe I am saying these things.... those pants have forever changed my view of costuming.
