Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

I'm enjoying my coffee and going through Yuzuru's programs, to find the 2012 LP, as I like going back to that one and then suddenly there's this

I've completely forgotten about it. 2010 was the first time he popped up for me when BESP did that JW transmission (and it's really great now in retrospect to hear what the uncles thought of him). Got to love when even these old ones are safely there for us years later.

Completely fall in love with Yuzu (the only athlete who makes me so 'obsessed with') after watching his performance during 2016 World Championship though the first time I know the existence of Yuzu and figure skating is around 2014 Winter Olympics. :luv17:

I have a similar experience as well, I first learned of Yuzu after seeing his short program during the 2014 Olympics and then completely fell in love with his skating after looking him up again last year and watching his performances at the Grand Prix Finals I recently discovered Golden Skate and have been following his thread here since then! Best of luck to Yuzuru this season, I wish for him to be successful, happy, and healthy!!!

This is how and when I completely fall in love with Yuzuru Hanyu:

The first LIVE performance (Internet) I watched is Seimei in 2016 World Championships after I read news about Yuzu’s SP by chance. His performance deeply moved and captivated me, I was even emotionally exhausted after watching it. No other athlete has that impact on me ever. Then I searched for his stuff in the Internet. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT and RELATED to him. :luv17:

People in the arena said they still could see his movements well, as in reality it is not that blendy with the ice. But yeah we should wait for Skate Canada to see if he will adjust the pants, or if tech panel and judges will not be borthered by the whiteness.

I guess it depends on the ice & the lighting. I didn't have any problem seeing his lines. The costume is so white, it's dazzling. I like the vest as a new way to emphasize his waist. Watching him getting ready to go on the ice before revealing the full costume, he had this little smile that made me think that he was enjoying the surprise of the new look. If the video of Prince in the similar outfit was an inspiration for the program (& there is a similar high kick in Prince's & Yuzuru's choreo), that bodes well for how high-energy the program will be as the season progresses.

As for the FS costume: the blue & green & bling are richly gorgeous.

SO far, what is your favorite Yuzu CM? Mine is the Hatachi no Kenketsu one and probably the 360° video of him skating (i miss my phone with gyroscope, i loved to pretend he was really skating around me )

So with all the bashing of Yuzuru's condition at early season, he is still the one who scored highest in senior B... with 260.8 in total and that is Yuzuru who popped 4S3T in the SP, popped 4S3T in the LP, ditched 3Acombo in the LP as well...

Good job Yuzuru

And as for my favorite CM, I think the Lotte chocolate series with the skating 360 degrees is the best.

It really shows the difficulty of his programs and just how good he is, even when he's nowhere near his best. He really was totally knackered during the LP and yet ... he's such a phenomenal complete skater. It's that completeness that makes him truly frightening, because when you add it all up, the potential of these programs, skated cleanly is immense. As I said in the other thread, scary. In a brilliant kind of way.

Still feeling disappointed unsure by NChen's win at Finlandia, I'm just watching Yuzuru's SEIMEI, PW, Chopin Ballade and even Hope&Legacy to calm my nerves. Really effective.:cool14:

Your version looks better than the real thing, to be honest. Mostly because the pants are not total ink black right on the top in your pictures and the transition between dark blue and black is more fluid. I think Yuzu's costume would look better overall if his top was longer or if his pants were very dark blue instead of complete black.

I watched this last night! Well, actually watched all the versions and by this time, I think I enjoy the comments as much as I enjoy Yuzuru himself. But this Spanish version is something because Paloma del Rio and Susana Pales truly love Yuzuru and when she goes Oh, tonteria when he fell I want to die laughing and at the end there, me encanta! in that tone of voice I just go I feel you girl, I feel you, in my head. Because that 2012 FP was truly something special.
