Mikhail Kolyada

That Ex number seems to have caused collective fainting :luv17: Misha clearly loves an opportunity to concentrate on choreo and lines and artistic expression and the audience very much loves the result. He should really get invited to more shows and we should get to see them. Also, hopefully, in the future there will be more energy and attention left over from the tech content to show something at that level in competitions, because currently it's a bit of a waste of talent.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zexZhFi2oOI - this one has an interview.

Misha's first reaction to his score  Well, I suppose if you can't get sky-high PCS in your own rink, where can you get it? In the interview he says that overall he is reasonably satisfied, although there were little (and not so little) mistakes - there is always something to work on and it's necessary to move forward. The audience supported him today and it made it easier to skate well. The interviewer: "We should invite more people because the competitions at the Academy are often poorly attended". Misha: "Yes, please, that'll make me very happy!"
Somebody actually made a gif of it

At least Misha is not in danger of succumbing to delusions of grandeur any time soon.

But well done, the judges, all the same - I am sure it was still nice for Mika to get such score - besides compared to other skaters he did deserve it...
I am so happy and relieved that things are moving in a right direction, his jumps are back, his positive mood is back hurrah!
I am probably in minority on this but I miss his old sp costume - there was an edge in it and a new one well it is just okay but nothing special :(

After watching his EX I thought that I'd like to see him doing James Bond, a Sean Connery's type you know - pure magnetic. Ohh Mika you truly could skate to anything but not this season - sigh... However after watching SA I came to a conclusion that as so many skaters chose some quite boring music (Muse eg) the judges might actually appreciate an upbeat program as Mika's sp. All will be well lets hope!

If he ever manages to combine the choreography and performance from the EX with the tech content he will actually deserve those PCS. Also, if Klyushnichenko can put that together she might not be the problem after all. I've always thought a lot was sacrificed to upping the tech - the EX seems to have been created to show just how much, on both of their parts. Well, at least people will see what Misha is potentially capable of, apparently many did not expect it.

As for the new SP costume, if it makes him slightly less sick of the old program it is worth it. And in a purely aesthetic sense it's a much better look for him. Also, another season of the "retina-burning shirt" might have been too much for most viewers (and judges) as well.

Yes, it seems rotated and generally not in any way hopeless, just needs a bit more work. A 2S at the Rostelecom Cup would be a bad idea so he will be more likely to go for it even if the attempt is not entirely successful. So far he's been very cautious but then there were no stakes - and I don't even know what happened at Finlandia and why he tried to jump a second 4T instead.

It should also be mentioned that he brought back the 3Lo we have been worried about and it seems fine, so they obviously fixed it once again and he's not in danger of losing it.

I was too relieved to see 3Lo! And his 3A as gorgeous as ever!

Yeah Finlandia's layout remains a bit of mystery - if they tried a new layout why they didn't prepare plan B in case it didn't work. It felt like they were not really ready for that competition.

Considering that Misha looked half-dead at the end of the FS and had trouble getting enough height on his jumps he was obviously not ready for it physically - he seemed unwell, in fact, and in a bad place mentally. I almost wouldn't put it past him to get things mixed up, however unlike him that is. But I don't suppose it matters now.

I had a great chance to visit this competition and to see Misha's programmes alive. During the FS people were cheering him up and then he began to enjoy his perfomance. When Misha skates with mood his programmes look very good.
His new Exhibition i can watch again and again and again. This kind of programme is very suitable for Misha and it was clear he like it!
Also we had a short conversation with Misha. He said he feels better during the programmes now, he began to return his last season good shape and it is already easier to jump. He is going to do 4S and now works on it and hope to do it on CoR. He is waiting for CoR and getting ready. His good mood during perfomances had returned. :)

Thanks for the good news! Yes, that Ex is something that deserves to be watched again and again. Hopefully we will see it performed once more very soon.

Some interesting information from FSO...
Somebody called Chebotareva and said how strong we all love Misha's Ex. She was so happy! They did this programme with Klushnichenko especially to show Misha is able to skate lyrics. because Russian fed and judges see only funny Misha. They are going to show this programme on CoR and the costume is already ready.
Also she said Misha does 4S as good as 4T on practice but can't do it on music.

Some news from Valentina: the Ex was created to show that Misha can do lyrical/romantic programs and not just comedy because it seems that Misha's been typecast by those higher up that make decisions (is the Fed evil?). Misha's 4S is as good in practice as his 4T but so far he gets a psychological glitch in competitions.

Edit: apparently it's just been posted above.

I just watched the EX, and well, if he skated this program with the jumps, god, it could be awesome. The first part he didn't seem so sure of himself, and I thought he could give more, but when the music grew, he did it too and he skated big, filling the entire rink for me. And the costume, it looks a lot better on him and his lines - cof cof, the backside, tho. They should let him be more free with his skating. But perhaps this is a smart way to prove himself to everyone.

Yes, this is why I am slightly dreading the shirt that Valentina mentioned for his costume. I would be perfectly happy if they just left him in that T-shirt with bare arms so you can see the exquisite lines. And honestly, he is attention-grabbing enough in that program not to need bright colours.
