Mikhail Kolyada

I understood it to mean more that Misha is independent in his training than an introvert per se. He has never struck me as someone who would demand constant attention, and Stasya is obviously more of a diva and sometimes lets her emotions get the better of her.

So did I, but could not resist contrasting these two - not to be taken seriously!

A new interview with Misha:

http://fsrussia.ru/news/2460-mikhail-kolyada-pro-tseli-na-sezon-govorit-ne-budu-nado-prosto-khorosho-vystupat.html

Summary: This was a preparatory start for the new season, there were mistakes that they are going to work on. He mentions a lack of self-confidence that's plagued him for a few years. He is trying not to think of the last season, as each season starts anew. In his LP he depicts a wandering performer with a complicated life history, and he feels that the program suits his temperament. They are not planning to change the programs, just work on what's already there. Preparing for the season went well, there was a focus on general fitness, but it's evidently not enough, so they will put more effort into increasing his stamina. They are also paying a lot of attention to psychological preparation. He hopes it'll help.
He doesn't want to discuss the goals for this season and says that he just needs to skate well.

Post-SP: So, Misha's 4T+3T is back :yes2: Now he just needs to fix that 3A, he was leaning noticeably in the air, but it's still improved compared to Finlandia. And his mood seems to be good, finally!

Misha's FS at the Panin Memorial (from FSO, not official):

4T +2
2S 0
3A+3T +2
3Lz +2
StSq +2
FSSp4 +1
3A +2
3Lz+2T +2
3Lo +1
3S+2T +1
CCSp4 +1
CCoSp3 +1

He tried the 4S several times during the warm-up and apparently did it once but fell.

Thanks for the video! People have been saying why can't he skate something like that for an SP... Sigh.

It's far too early to give up on the 4S. His success rate with the 4T was not exactly impressive to begin with, and look at it just over a year later. And Misha's been improving with every skate this season, he was actually clean today apart from the salchow and his jump quality is back. As someone said in the youtube chat after the SP, "Misha is gradually waking up".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zexZhFi2oOI - this one has an interview.

Misha's first reaction to his score  Well, I suppose if you can't get sky-high PCS in your own rink, where can you get it? In the interview he says that overall he is reasonably satisfied, although there were little (and not so little) mistakes - there is always something to work on and it's necessary to move forward. The audience supported him today and it made it easier to skate well. The interviewer: "We should invite more people because the competitions at the Academy are often poorly attended". Misha: "Yes, please, that'll make me very happy!"

Thank you sooooooo much for the news!! And what great news they are - Mika is coming back. Yes, yes, yes!!

And I can't watch to wait the new Ex (I'm currently watching SA, but right after that... )
