IceNetwork. US Qualifying competitions are always broadcast on IceNetwork and only IceNetwork. It's up to individuals to post skates on Youtube, but that will be something you'll have to look for later.

More Sectionals news!
Pacific Coasts Junior Ladies SP
Kaitlyn Nguyen is in 1st with 58.45! This includes a 3Lz-3T with 1.40 GOE! If only she wasn't too young for Junior Worlds, since she could definitely contend at Nationals.
Starr Andrews is in 2nd with 55.12, including a 3T-3T and all Level 4 spins! Looks like she popped her axel, which invalidated it. Had that not occurred, she may actually have ended up in the lead.
Nina Ouelette is in 3rd with 55.11, Sierra Venetta is in 4th with 54.11, and perpetual Goldenskate favorite Liza Kulik! is in 5th with 53.14.
Midwesterns Senior Ladies is completed.
Nationals Qualifiers (top 4) are:
1) Tessa Hong, 54.42 + 114.38 = 168.80
2) Hannah Miller, 56.66 + 105.57 = 162.23
3) Amber Glenn, 52.95 + 109.11 = 162.06
4) Ashley Shin, 53.73 + 91.50 = 145.23

does ashley still have a chance of making the final, mathematically? i think there are only 4 skaters left to skate at their 2nd grand prix who have a solid chance of surpassing her (elena, maria, mai mihara, and satoko)
currently ashley is in 4th, if only two of those girls don't score high enough to surpass her (shouldn't be hard), will ashley be able to go?
edit: i mean it shouldn't be hard for all 4 girls to score high enough to surpass her... i guess i should say "it'd be difficult for two to do poorly enough"

I blame Ashley's long program struggles on her hair being down. Just kidding. But seriously, Ashley, tie your hair up. It's really distracting.
As bummed as I am about Ashley's chances of not making the GPF, it's probably a good thing. I love her programs this year but they need a lot of work and a whole lot more of transitions. Maybe with no competitions in December, she can focus on getting those jumps rotated, spins faster and better, and add overall difficulty to the programs. I don't think Cup of China was any indicator of nerves or any mental problems. I think she just didn't react well to the long travel.

SO proud of angela wang, 38th that 69! She could be a top us lady. I'm so sick of the Ashley gracie thing and want someone else to rise!
Confused about livvy...... So, this is her first nationals at ANY level? Of she never qualified for novice or junior, did she skip those levels to become senior? But congrats to her!

Competing at Nationals has nothing to do with moving up levels. Skaters can test up when they feel they've learned whatever is required for Moves In The Field and Free Skate tests. Livvy has competed at other levels before, at club competitions, Regionals, and Sectionals.

Thanks for letting us know that is was up on YouTube. I agree with you on the program and especially like the Rippon Loop she did very late in the program. Very impressive. Even her coach bowed to her which I thought was very cute.

For future reference: Occurs to me that this year, Vincent Zhou would be another example consistent with a three-assignments bye to Nats.
He does not meet any of the other criteria for a bye.
But he has had two international assignments so far (his JGPs), plus he (like Tim) is assigned to Golden Spin.
(I have no complaint re Tim or Vincent

Did i see Tessa Hong competing as a Senior at Sectionals this year? After not even competing at Nationals the last couple years because of injuries why is she not competing as a Junior at Nationals. Seems like she should be going for the Junior title for at least one year before she makes the leap to Senior especially considering she's only 14 and hasn't skated at Nationals since she was in intermediate in 2014. She really hasn't competed enough the last couple years to move to the Senior level.
I didn't know this but thank you for bringing it up. That does seem odd she is competing as a senior. I feel really bad for Emily Chan; missed out on Nationals after being Novice and Junior champion without an assignment to Junior Worlds. While her jumps can be an issue, she is incredibly expressive.

USFS seems to prefer to send competitors at senior Nationals to Junior Worlds. (Which I'm okay with, but I'm generally against sending girls over the age of 16/17 to JW, because then we're just sending our older girls to get beat by 13/14/15 year olds from Russia and Japan, and ultimately, the chance of a 17 year old competing at JW to then go on and be competitive for senior worlds medals in the future is unlikely, so that high-stakes competitive experience is better given to someone younger.) But anyway, I imagine that Tessa doesn't want to win Junior Nationals and then risk someone she could feasibly beat at the senior level - like Karen, Bradie, or Tyler - being sent to JW instead of her. If she beats them in the senior competition, then she'll get sent (I imagine.)
Plus, if she's able to win senior sectionals, let her compete there. National junior medals aren't given that much international credibility anyway (unless you're in Russia or Japan, probably.)

Diva Wagner was, I believe, 18 when she won her second bronze at Jr Worlds, and 16 when she won the first one... there are times (however rare) when it does work out...

i knew from the practice photos that ashley didn't look ready like she did for skate america
might just be the jet lag but to me she looked more trained for skate america (obviously competing on home soil against your biggest domestic rival will do that to you)

Yes, the level of competition at Juniors at the moment are a bit slim. Her scores in sections were pretty competitive relative to the rest of the section's field. She had the fourth highest score. I think she would have an outside shot at top 10.

Yeah, hopefully she is able to peak at Nationals and Worlds. In the grand scheme of things, CoC and the GPF aren't the most important events. But I do think that, by missing the GPF, she loses any claim to a Worlds spot if she finishes outside the top 3.
