Simon Reed is the biggest fan of Yuzu. I've been listening to his commentating since 1998 (I literally learned English from him and uncle Chris-thanks guys! :thank:) and I can tell you his two favourites ever are Yuzuru and Yuna. xD
He loves Yuzu so much that his wishful thinking led him to fantasize that Yuzu's new SP may get the world record at NHK.

was he the one who commentated this Yuna program? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh-850kqJoE
I watch this one over and over. His comments are spot on!

I have to admit the twizzles at the beginning of Yuzu's EX are killing me softly ...:love::love:

how can he let his upper body and arms be so free and apparently so uncontrolled while spinning so fast??

Yes, yes, absolutely, it's Simon Reed, he speaks until 03:39, then from 03:39 it's Chris Howarth! This was the event when they both fell in love with her. :luv17:

yes!! and they predicted she was going to win the world championships in her LP, as well as possibly the olympics. and they were right :)

Totally OT, but that program was really phenomenal (well Chris and Simon made their best to enhance the view, they LOVED Yuna)! She was 17 at that time...
And to come back in topic, this won't happen now or next year for obvious reasons, but I really wish that Yuzu could do a program with Tom Dickson too!

It was amazing! The way she skates to the music - wow. She had 2 seasons to hone it so it was beautiful. Makes me wonder how much more beautiful her other programs could have been if she had skated to them more. But most of them were already beautiful.

Pogorilaya, Sotskova and Yuzuru from Pogo's instagram at the banquet

ETA : Is Yuzuru really still only 171 now? Sotskova is 170 cm and is wearing heels (?) but Yuzuru still look taller than her (forever riddle of Yuzuru's current real height)

Maria's wikipedia page says she's 5'7" and Yuzu is also 5'7"...maybe he grew recently? :p

Yuna SPs were incredibles...as much as I love her LPs (especially Homage to Korea, in my mind the lost masterpiece of FS) I always thought her excellence was mostly visible in the SPs (like Sasha Cohen but way more successful). BTW, Yuna Tango de Roxanne is kind of my guilty pleasure, it's one of those program I'm never tired of rewatching (the same with Yuzuru R&J 1).
Yuzuru seems to be incredible in both SP and LPs of him, big kudos to him for this!

Totally agree. Totally agree that Homage was her best LP, too.

Possible 17/18 FS Layout:
4Lz, 4Lo, 3F // 4Lo+3T, 4S, 3A+3T, 3A+1Lo+3S, 4T :dance2:

Isn't he repeating one too many then? 4Lo, 3A, 3T, it'd be 4Lo-2T. It's still 96.96 on BV though  That's got to be wrong, right?

You are right. :agree: haha. So maybe:
4Lz, 4Lo, 3F // 4Lo+2T, 4S, 3A+3T, 3A+1Lo+3S, 4T
or
4Lz, 4Lo, 3F // 4Lo+3T, 4S, 3A+2T, 3A+1Lo+3S, 4T

^^@Meoima, actually I read that as moving the quad to the last place, not a possible replacement for a pop, but next season otherwise he could do a YOLO if he feels he has the strength even now.

He'd do the double with the quad, easier and less chances of messing up because a triple-triple, especially with the 3A is probably something he can do in his sleep. But the stamina required for this would be insane though I guess he'd already be partially used to it from this season and this gradual working up to it all. I've got to recalculate those numbers though, they're too high.

I know that Yuzuru has been practicing 4lz. But I don't think he will do 5 quads in his program. I think 4 different quad is too much already.

Do we have this? It's a half hour long thing from NHK

Right! It's five quads there, not four. I was just staring at it and trying to figure out what was wrong and why the BV was so high. I'm too tired :palmf: Yeah five seems unlikely, four it is. But he could eliminate the 4T this way totally by shifting the 4S to the end for the fourth and then re-arranging the rest.

Or you know, go for the actual five like Sano Minoru said a while back ...
