Hello! I'm new to this forum and a (kinda) new fan of Yuzu. Please excuse my poor english :)
I have been lurking around for quite some time. It took me WEEKS to read through this entire thread but I am learning a lot from you guys! I love the atmosphere here: unlike some fans outside that seem to be over-defensive, I see rational discussions on techniques and information relating to figure skating and Yuzu. (while loving this adorkable boy)
Nice to meet you all!

Or maybe Javi doesn't know if Yuzuru is in Toronto or not? or he clearly said "he is not here yet but he has to be some time later" like you said in first post? I wonder  Sorry for digging but I am very surprised.

I am quite sure i heard him say "They came back after the competition" referring to Yuzu and Brian. Unless my ears deceived me, i do find it strange because it doesn't make sense :| and instagram didn't save the video or anything so unless someone recorded it i can't go back and hear it again :(

edit for clearness: He was arriving to the rink and someone asked him to show Yuzu, he said "Yuzu, yuzu isn't here yet" and i thought "yeah, bc he is in japan" and said "but i can show brian. He's already here, they came back after the competition" kept walking and said, not quoting because it's the part that doesn't make sense, that yuzu should be arriving later at the rink but didn't know at what time. It is entirely possible that he thinks that Yuzu came back to canada too, that makes more sense. But like i said, i am quite sure he said that both of them had returned to Canada after NHK :scratch2:

Welcome to the party! And what an accomplishment for reading through the entire thread:agree:

I couldn't do that. I think i only got to page 1500 before giving up. It was more of a frustration thing because i wanted to get into the old discussions hahaha, and because there's so much Hanyu and my heart can't take all that Hanyuu in such a short span of time :P

it is really interesting to learn the past of Yuzu especially when he is not as well-known.;) I really admire the dedication of some of the old fans here.

As far as I recall, Yuzu's training schedule at CC is mostly in the afternoon, so it makes sense that he would not show up on the ice before 1PM. But what a surprise if he indeed went back to Toronto prior to GPF. Maybe something to do with choreography?

Or maaybe it IS because of this
Maybe this time Orser wants to have more control on what he is doing between events ;)

No quad lutzes, axels when no one is looking

Huh. That's odd. The time zones hopping is usually something to avoid but they probably have things to work on and wanted to be back in Canada.
Anyway it is strange and i hope that Javi was wrong and he is happily in Japan so he can be in good shape before GPF :( because it doesn't make sense...

"I love the pressure. I love standing on the edge of that cliff going "YOO-HOO." This sounds sarcastic :scratch2:

When I watched the video, he sounds pretty genuine to me. He followed it up with he's turning the pressure into something positive towards his performance. But well, I could be wrong ... I just love watching his interviews when he's in a good mood, he's so bubbly and that brings smile to my face.

It is an odd season so I maybe nothing is impossible lol. I guess we would know later anyway because his arrival at France will be reported by the news station. He doesn't stay in Japan much at all this season eh? Even after his injury healed, he only went back for a short time to do that charity show skate + filming CM + other PR things like receiving guinness records and immediately went back to Toronto. I wonder if he will go back and forth for Nats too.

TBH, I won't have a problem with him going back to Toronto as long as the jet lag does not bother him. It is always better to have your coaches closely watch your training. Despite the fact that he had been doing great for last two years without direct observation under Brain and Tracy in between NHK and GPF, I say it is a good thing to get closer to your coach, your choreographer, and your training buddy/rival.

If we didn't get Javier correctly, then don't mind what I have said.:yay:

Isn't that the truth  You're right about him being much more in Canada but it's probably a good thing, overall. But that's a great question about the Nats. It's entirely possible, he seems very focused on improving and keeps saying there is much to do. He can stay in Japan after them a bit longer I'd guess, considering the holidays and all.

You might disagree with me, but I'd feel rather relieved if Yuzuru did go back to Canada.

Oh I definitely agree it's a good thing. I'm guessing he's one of those people who isn't too affected by time zones skipping so it's not an issue.

We are talking about someone who stayed in Japan for only 3 days (I remembered so) after winning Olympics and immediately got back to Canada to prepare for the Worlds:clapper:

That makes two of us. It could be a turning point in some aspects.

Well if he did go back to Canada, he's not the only one who did so it can't be THAT bad, right? Let's wait and see  if Yuzu is indeed at TCC then maybe Javi will make another live, since he said he wanted to make live videos more often, and he did want to show him too.

Unless someone scolds him because he said he wasn't supposed to take videos inside the rink

If this actually works out for him and not giving him much trouble with jet-lag, I wonder if he will do this next year? (This is all an if lol). Next year is tricky because GPF is in Japan and NHK is not the last event, so there is about at least 3 weeks until GPF from NHK (assuming Yuzuru goes there which is very likely). Then 2-3 weeks after GPF is Nats, but he can't be in Japan for too long without a coach so I wonder if his returning to Canada and staying there longer has anything to do with his plan next year.
Also, same. I prefer to have him training with his coach than alone.

If he isn't that affected by time zone changes then i don't really have an issue, because yeah, it's better to have him supervised while training, although he seems more careful of his condition lately, so i don't think he would turn into a quad monster the moment Brian takes his eyes off him  (it does make a pretty funny mental image, though!). Let's see what happens :)
