2016-17 Russian Qualifiers and other events

Obviously will not see a video anytime soon but based on scores and protocols Zhuk/Britkov did pretty well today. Their TES was almost 36 points which is pretty good for them. Their SP score was above 59 points.

Russian-Chinese youth winter games
7 - December 12, 2016. Harbin (China).

From 7 to 12 December 2016 in Harbin (China) will be held for the first time in the history of Russian-Chinese youth winter games.

27 sets of medals in five sports will be raffled: figure skating, speed skating, short track, hockey and alpine skiing (giant slalom and slalom).

Recall that the Russian-Chinese youth summer games have become a tradition. After the competition in the framework of national years (of Russia in China in 2006 and China in Russia in 2007) Games held in 2009 in Beijing, in 2011 in Penza, in 2013 in Shanghai, in 2015 in Irkutsk.

I couldn't find team Russia but Alexey Erokhov and Arina Ushakova / Maxim Nekrasov will be there. So, I would say it will be a pretty competitive junior team.

Can anyone tell me who else is Russian sending to these games?

Absolutely love Vladimir Samoylov. Airy and strain free jumping.

Panenkova has nice jumps but everything else is just rough and needs a lot of work. I much prefer Trusova and Tarakanova. Tarakanova has really grown and gotten quite elegant; her jumps have improved too. I love the transition into and out of Trusova's 2A. She's been a lot more consistent this year!

Pavlyuchenko/Khodikyn have some really nice SBS jumps....3T+3T sequence and a 3S. She seems like a strong jumper. She's new to pairs and this is their first season together; hopefulyl they will continue to do well.
