What, are you kidding me? The description of the video said Shoma Uno wants to try 4lz?

3.25 Flutz you mean?

It would be insane if judges put *that thing* on the same standard as Nathan Chen and Boyang Jin's Lutz.

Well Shoma's terrible flutz is neither new nor any kind of secret. You don't even need a slow motion or repeat to see the change of edge.

It's why I don't now why he wants to try 4Lz. I know that answer is always TES but I don't think we need quad flutzes :scratch2:

The end of the video though, it shows that throughout the season, Uno only got one '!' and one 'e' call. Most of the time, he pretty much got away with it.
Yes it's just triple so they don't pay much attention maybe. But if Uno keeps on this kind of technique, he might gets a pass for "quad flutz" next season.
Tech specialist should pay attention. It's just so wrong they attacked Asada for Flutz for like a decade then suddenly decide there is no more flutz. It's very wrong.

If its a quad, they pay even less attention, appearently, because well, its a quad.

I wish they would just call all the wrong stuff.
The wrong edges.
The underrotaions.
The pre-rotation.

Everything.

Same channel, this video shocked me too: https://youtu.be/qzUv5fWz16Q

It seems nowadays, it doesn't matter how wrong it can be. ISU only wants to promote numbers. I remember the day they scrutinized UR and wrong edge badly.

Never a big fan of Asada, but why she didn't get this lenient treatment as Uno even though she's from JSF as well.

Agree. I only wish that they could put something like sensors on the blades to see these stuff automatically, it would limit bad judging (at least in the TES area) and would make the skaters equal...if you flutz, you flutz, if you lip, you lip and so on...This would be a simple yet great way to encourage all people to work on their jump technique.

Yeah his flip is pretty bad too. You can even tell by how he lands it all wonky that it's not quite right. He has good skating skills and presentation, but just because he excels at those things, his technique on his jumps shouldn't be overlooked. Otherwise, there's no incentive for him to try and fix it.

This thread has no message except to bash Uno.

That's not true...I guess videos of technical aspect that shows something bad about skater is now only considered bashing. I guess we have to just act like all skaters' skating are flowers and candies and they're without any flaws. Some people don't know how flutz look and how true lutz look (with another point of this video is judges not calling Shoma's flutzes).

I don't understand why some people have to act like pointing out the judging issue is bashing some skaters.

Before Asada retired, she did get her Lutz edge ratified didn't she? And it cost her many years to get it. Might not mean anything to her now. But it's reassuring somehow that you can fix it.

If judges gave blind eyes to the issue, who would fix their flaws while they still get the credit?

If three 10+ page threads can be opened criticizing Nathan's high PCS, I don't see the harm in discussing the questionable non-calls of Shoma's flutz and questionable flip. :confused2:

Just to point out mistakes. We have all right to discuss his technique. Or of any other skaters.
We want to point out judging issues, for example, as major mistakes are not called at all, and receive scores that are not justified.

This thread is to point out judges error so that skaters using the wrong technique is penalized which is what should happen. Unfortunately you interpret that as "bashing".

Math's point is that when someone posts a "Joe" vs. "Joe" thread, it usually ends up being a bashing or trolling thread.
