Anna Pogorilaya

The guy quoted Viktor Kudryavtsev.

He quoted, that Viktor Kudryavtsev thinks, that she could have psychological problems. It's only his opinion, if you believe the blog. And that was in September!
You could also see the positiv side, Kudryavtsev thinks, she has no problems with her technic.

All competitive skaters have psychological problems to overcome. It ain't easy performing a highly technical high risk esthetic sport all alone in a large rink with thousands of pairs of eye all on you while being judged. And there are pressures from all directions. It comes down to who can cope or overcome these psychological problems at competitions and in their lives. But there is no need to exaggerate these problems if they don't cause major issues for the skater's health and career.

Go Anna!

Good week, we finally go to see Anna's FP.

Whatever his results, it is always a pleasure to see Anna.
In the enjoyment of the victories or the sufferings of more difficult days, we are always wholeheartedly with you.
Go Anna

I really hope she'll be warmly received in Canada.

personally, I think that her maturity and sophistication in performance, combined with very sensual, emotional expression are going to be appreciated everywhere by those who are loving figure skating. She connects with the audience through her emotions, feel of the music, even when having a hard time with execution overall. Viewers/spectators tend to click with Anna as a performer pretty much regardless if her jumps are on money. I hope she'll be able to perform her best out of both programs.

Of course she will be!

Hehe, I just realized how that must've sounded. I never doubted the Canadian audience, I just want her to feel the love! She has won Skate Canada before, so good memories all around! I'm so panicky I didn't even put her in the Top 6 of my predictions, thinking it'll jinx her. I secretely wish for Silver or...perhaps Gold. But I don't believe it'll happen. *sniff*

Loving all this Anna positivity, I have gotten tired of seeing people being doom and gloom in other threads about her. I think you're totally spot on with this -- people really connect with Anna's skating, and no matter how she places this weekend she will make a real impression on the skating community. I just hope Anna is healthy and happy and can put out two skates that make her feel good, so she can start building back her confidence towards the olympics!

well, where else to find this positivity kept on the right level, if not in Anna's FF thread?

I think that a lot of people are just one-sided and too competition/results-oriented in terms of favoring/cheering for skaters, hence seeing Anna through certain factors. Yes, she has her fair share of competition troubles - I tend to think that she is spectacular in both succeeding and failing, but never a mild, bland or indifferent one, never. What brought me to Anna, her skating? Her maturity and professional, engaging way of performance, the fact that her sensual looks are totally in line with the way she skates: passionatelly, with natural flare and drama, never created just because choreography says so. What keeps me with Anna and her skating? Her strenght, with whom she was equally capable of getting her best results/produce her most memorable performances and getting up after each fall or disappointment.

She is for me a skater of the emotion, of a moment, which is definitely not about iron consistency or always stellar results. My perspective can acommodate equally admiration and repect for those with aforesaid consistency/results and for those like Anna - who draws me mostly by her weird mix of emotional fragility and strenght represented by her persona and skating.

It's probably not in the video, but she fell in practice and held her back, looking in pain. As she jumped a beautiful 3-3 combo a few minutes later, it didn't seem to faze her much. The fall looked painful as Anna's falls almost always do.
