Mikhail Kolyada

Congratulations to Mikhail. He looks so happy. Yes, that gif is funny. And woww that car! Really nice but expensive to keep? , maintain? ( I don’t know which is the appropiete word sorry) at least for my pocket.

I wish he can show us great performances at Worlds, I want to see him joyful and satisfied with his exercises. I want to see that confident and brave guy I saw in Boston.

Beautiful performance at "Nation proud" (If it can be transleted like this) show. Really nice. Modest jumps perhaps but doesn't matter. Pay attention at the end of his spin. Is he recovering weight? I mean, I see him stronger than before, or it's just me?

Mika met with his fan club members and received presents which were sent from not only Russia but also from abroad:

He was delighted with the main present - a gift voucher for a flight on a small plane! (flying into 4lz should pale in the compassion:biggrin:)

Thank you to Misha official fan group for this chance. I was able to send a support and birthday greeting humble message to him thanks to a fan group administrator post here in GS. I’m happy and grateful if it has been delivered to him. I like this mug very much, and uauuu!!! what a great idea that gift voucher for a flight on a small plane.

I was a bit surprised to see both Valentina & Olga with Stanislava at JWC. I guess Mika can train on his own just as well but Olga staying with him would make more sense IMHO - any thoughts?

I think Misha and Stasya are the biggest stars of their group, but they have different types of mentality: Stasya is a person who needs her family and team members around, she feels more comfortable and confident then. However Misha feels more responsibility that binds him in this case. But I think he is responsible enough to train few days according to their plans, and for the other hand the absence of Valentina, Olga and Stanislava during the International Women Day made his job in buying flowers much more easy.

Or send Olga with Stasya, Olga seems less likely to fall prey to nerves. But anyway, now Valentina has two skaters to prepare for Worlds, both of them worn out from competing frequently. Their lives are just not getting easier this season, are they? Why had the Fed not send Nastya Gubanova to JW instead as everyone has been suggesting??? :bang:

P.S. Valentina really needs a bigger coaching team.

A male coach would be great I think. I remember Mika mentioned in one of his interview that he really appreciated the guy who is in charge of an off-ice training, saying smth like 'it is good to have a man to man chat sometimes'

Go Misha!!! :hap10: :hap10: :hap10: :hap10: I would love to see him nab a podium spot. If I had my way he'd be a world bronze medallist already.

I really do not care about the medals or placements anymore, I just want him to skate clean/near clean and be satisfied with his own performances. He needs it, his confidence needs it - fingers crossed...

New interview with Mika:

In short: the work's been done on the mistakes at the Oly, there is better awareness what to do to improve, however no new elements planned at Worlds (I take it 4sal is not to return?)

I hope so. He is already tired after such a long season. Better keep being clean with lesser content than putting so much pressure on himself. A simple program worked for Dima at Euro as a strategy, i hope it would work for Mikhail too.

I also really hope he just skates well and be satisfied with his performance. And of course, I'd like to see him landing 4Lz again, becuase it's really, really gorgeous and it's a shame we don't see it more often. But like, I know, it's super hard, so I understand why it's not landed regulary.
