She looks like a kid, very cute kid![]()
She is!
Are Alina and her Russian teammates in a mini training camp for the world championships 5 days away?
She was in Moscow this morning getting awards and stuff along with the other Olympic medalists and coaches from the Mayor. The Olympic medalists from Moscow, just to be clear.
I bet her home rink with Eteri is all the training camp she needs!
Good luck Alina!
Its time to train with worlds so close. Thanks for the update.
Still awards? Enough. This will mae Eteri mad!Its time to train with worlds so close.
Dropping by to give support to my girl... The reigning Russian, European and Grand Prix Final Winner, the 2018 Winter Olympics Ladies Figure Skating Champion and also the current Russian Ladies FS Gold Medalist, Alina Zagitova...
Typing those words was a task. Whew!
You're right, a larger apartment should come before the dog. For the sake of everyone and every pet that lives there!
That is so ridiculous about fans pressuring Daniil to follow Alina on IG. Like they don't already spend all day every day interacting with each other. And Alina barely posts on IG. I hope that changes after Worlds and we get to see vacation and Akita pics. But as for anyone needing to follow someone - just let them live!
There is a video on YouTube of Alina and the choreographer (Alexei?) dancing to a samurai themed routine. That would be a great idea for a show number with the right music.
Scott, I see what you are saying. I'm giving the coaches a pass for their reactions at her scores these past few competitions because I think they were in a state of shock. Not that they don't want Alina to succeed, they just couldn't believe it was happening Right This Minute. It changed the ending to the movie they thought they were watching/making. I don't even think Alina could believe what was happening.
I'm expecting different reactions at Worlds if all goes well. Not trying to jinx anything, but she is definitely in with a chance to win it all this season. And from what I can tell with the help of Google Chrome translation the Russian media seems to be treating her win as a foregone conclusion. Like they expect no less. Here's hoping!
put the dog in her home town, it should be big enough. Alina have a meteoric rise this year. Sadly, the turnover for ladies figure skating Russia is very high.
I don't want to get too emotionally attached to her skating career. I do believe that if she can stay injury free she can have a few more successful seasons. With her winning everything her first season she has set the bar incredibly high for herself. I am interested to see how she evolves as an artist and performer. Hoping to get the opportunity to see that.Did she won every competition she enter this year. So, wiki did not update all results?
According to wiki.
Olympics 1st
Worlds TBD
Europeans 1st
GP Final 1st
GP Cup of China 1st
GP France 1st
CS Lombardia Trophy 1st
Should they give her a new grand slam medal if she win Worlds?
Eteri can't be too mad at these awards. Eteri and the other coaches were getting awards too. And it my understanding that these awards are, among other things, certificates for cash matching the amounts they already received from the gov. for their Olympic medals. Eteri receives an award totaling half the amount received by both Zhenya and Alina. Not sure if that amount is divided three ways between Eteri, Daniil and Sergey but still a nice amount of money and a day away from the office.
Now that Alina has the award money from the fed gov and the city of Moscow, I think it is apartment shopping time after worlds!

Will we see Alina doing quad next year??
In Peking 2022, she will have to defend her title with someone who will do 2 quad in free. Base mark will be higher than her. To compete or to play it safe?

I can't see three Russian girls being better than Alina zagitova in 2022 when Alina will be 19. A worst-case scenario is that Alina will make the team event at the Olympics and others skate in the singles event. if she stays healthy I just can't believe they will be three better skaters than Alina Zagitova in Russia in 2022. Sasha is the biggest threat to Alina the way Alina became a threat to Evgenia.

Well... we are yet to see if they can sustain the quad rotations first... but who knows? Is her sister eligible by 2022? Its gonna be awesome if she is. Williams sisters, anyone?
I like your optimism even if I can't bring myself to share it.But I hope you are right and whenever I catch myself having doubt I will just repeat the name "Aljona Savchenko" until I remember that anything is possible and nothing is too wonderful to happen.

Except for finding an affordable house in Moscow.(Kidding)
Edit: Ok, I take it back. Any-damn-thing is possible! Deanna Stellato is going to Worlds!!!!!! So happy for her! And Nate! Just Wow!
Actually, the costume is the only part of her Ex, that I like.Surprise, surprise.... but I hope that we'll not see a surprise like Alina's Ex costume this season:shocked:
