I think Nathan's curls have changed in the last few years. In 2015, they were frizzy and less defined. Now their well defined and shiny. I wonder what product he uses. Knowing him, it's just some basic shampoo and water.

I still can't with that ice dance number...

I don't think it's the actual age difference, which I don't think is a problem at all. It's just that Ashley has always looked 10 years older than her actual age to me, whenever she's all dolled up. Nathan otoh looks pretty boyish still. She also appears kinda stocky compared to him.

So it literally looks like Nathan is dragging around an aunt or so on the dancefloor at a family gathering .

I also feel bad for him, because he's never done a choreo with such a seductive vibe before, so I imagine he would feel rather awkward doing that?

I think it's different for female skaters, because they grow up doing flirty routines from a very young age (even though it's mostly done in a not too overtly sexy way, obviously) so I think this comes more natural to them once they are older.

And can I also say, that I'm quite bothered by Ashley's mediocre skating skills? Because that is sadly very much highlighted when she's skating next to Nathan, especially during that part where they are doing that simple stepwork together.

Say what you want about the general quality of Nathan's skating, but he's miles ahead of Ashley. And he may not glide as fast across the ice like some of his male competitors, but he's all about quick sharp movements. And it's not just his "bladework", it's the way he uses his whole body.

Compared to him, Ashley's skating looks very laboured and slow, and doesn't have a nice rhythm to it. She's all about posing with her face and arms, but apart from that there's not much else going on.
So that's another reason why I feel that pairing them up is not a good fit.

I will agree on some points, but Ashley can only do so much with the choreo that she is given, if the choreo for the ladies wasn't so dumbed down, it wouldn't be as awkward and seem like "posing". JMHO
