2026 Canadian Nationals : Senior Rhythm Dance

I'm just having a little fun at the expense of the pearl-clutchers over the past few days. For the record, I enjoyed Piper and Paul's skate.

And I agree that every Nationals has a little inflation spice thrown in for the fans. No harm, I suppose, so long as the spice is evenly distributed across all the athletes at the event.
Everything is bigger in America :)

I really have to commend Piper and Paul for the obvious hard work and improvements that have been implemented into their RD. Looks like they channeled all of their rage, sadness and frustration from the injustices thrown their way during the Grand Prix and have come out the other side much stronger, much hungrier, and more determined than ever to prove their detractors wrong. All of these changes signify they don’t just want to aim for Olympic bronze; they desire Olympic gold. I hope they allow themselves to stay free and focused when the big moments come later in the season and don’t become too cautious or tight. They don’t need to focus on anything else except remaining in their bubble, staying true to themselves and their love for the sport, and trusting their training and talent to execute all of their elements to the very best of their abilities.

Except C/B’s RD skate warranted a score of 84 instead of the 91.70 they received. I always feel like Madi and Evan phone in their Nationals performances.
Why peak early especially in a Olympic year? Plus i think the last couple of years they've been sick in the FD.

Some national inflating of marks but Piper and Paul did a lot to improve the RD. this should be ahead of CB but I doubt it. Of course for the drama there is now a battle for the third dance spot. I expected the French imports would get thethird sot convincingly following this year's past performances bu a little glitch technically and we have a real battle for the third spot. The top two were obvious. Now the thing is I to be fair would have Piper and Paul ahead of Chock and BAtes and ZK a head of LaLa. But I bet you the judges will put both Amerians team ahead of their Canadian competitors. But if things were fair Piper and Paul woulddefnintely be on the olympic podium but I don't think that will happen. The fix is in - Fear and Gibson will be there and maybe a bit of resurgence from the Italians being in Italy? It might be Careirra and Ponomarenko who get dumped this year as LaLa was last. ZK willrise amazingly being US no. 2 and the future world champs. LaLa might be like Piper andPaul and Weaver and Poje win a few world medals in the future. Marie Friance / IAM might sweep the olympic podium right or wrong. I wonder if we will see some Wicked for ehibitions. the movie was or movies were a little late maybe for competitive routines. Mind you the m usical was out ofor years but the rise to prominene with the movies may be too recent or are their already some wicked programs?

Cripes, a lot of junior teams make C/B look slow. 🤦‍♂️
Yeah this is one thing that has baffled me with Chock and Bates. Not so much at World’s as they tend to peak then and have much improved speed, but I don’t understand why their slowness never really seems to marked against them the rest of the season. It seems like all other teams get marked down but they don’t. I like Chock and Bates but this and their generally subpar RDs beating out G/P, G/F and even F/G before Worlds really surprises me.

this is so tight.

I preferred Alicia and Paul today. I think MJ and R are less cohesive
I'm pleasantly surprised that it's so close. I thought all season it looked like it was going to be a lock for Lauriault/Le Gac. I haven't thought Fabri/Ayer have been given their due by the judges this season. Not sure who to root for. I think an Olympic spot will mean a huge amount to both teams.
