What's the difference between what they are usually doing at their rink and the training camp in Novogorsk? Why do they go there?

She and Alina could make a team. Alina can eat half a jar of jam in minutes.

Alena could take the Coney Island challenge and Alina could take the Smuckers challenge. I see more medals in their futures.

I know whenever I watch the hotdog contest I get a kick out of all the other eating challenges these people have won.

"Grilled Cheese" was one of them - How the heck can anybody eat grilled cheese sandwiches fast????

Alexia Paganini is one of my favorites of the skaters that don't make the final two groups (how's that for a "technical term")

She is actually from Greenwich, CT (close to NY City) and I think she trains at the "Ice House" in Hackensack, NJ where Sarah Hughes used to train.

With her last name she should skate to "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" :luv17:

She is a lovely skater, I realized she was American and still trains here after I checked her Wikipedia page. It’s amazing how much gets lost in the clutter of the current figure skating field. She could be future Carolina, her jumps are what keeps her far from the current tops. In that particular event (without the added Canadians and Japanese that usually take top spots) she finished 7th and had her seasons best in that FS (and seasons best overall).

I liked her more than several of the current Americans.

James D J Brown (who broke the story about the prime minister back on April 22nd) tweet about the PM vs Akita-Inu Society....

Abe's plan to participate in handover of Akita puppy to figure skater Zagitova during Moscow visit faces criticism from Akita-inu Association. "This is a present from our society. I can't explain this to participants if the puppy is given by the PM."

This is the same as was posted before - but I like that he is still following the situation.

In Novogorsk athletes can fully devote themselves to training, rest and recover, there is very quiet, all the doctors that are needed are available if the athletes are injured, this is very good and a nice place..nobody and nothing distracts

She is a lovely skater, I realized she was American and still trains here after I checked her Wikipedia page. It’s amazing how much gets lost in the clutter of the current figure skating field. She could be future Carolina, her jumps are what keeps her far from the current tops. I forgot she finished that well at Eurpeans! Good for her. I like the option that she can skate for Switzerland and she was able to have a very respectable showing at Europeans. And she is also able to compete at the World Championships.

To crack into the "top tier" it really is about the jumps and has been for many many years. (no matter what the "purists" are always so about!!!!)

I definitely like her better than one PARTICULAR American skater (she that shall remain nameless but she is known for having an "itchy twitter finger")

I’m on the “come for the jumping, stay for the artistry” boat. That’s why i like Alina so much, she can deliver on both counts and will only improve in artistry as she gains experience.

To me even more "disgusting" (if possible) is Mr. Creosote at the at the "All You Can Eat" in Monty Python's "Meaning of Life"

Yes, they do.
"Novogorsk" is in Khimki town which is separated from Moscow only by Moscow Ring Road so it's like distant city district.

No, they are under the supervision of the KGB/FSB, who violates the training regime - will go to uranium mines in Magadan or clear the snow in Siberia

The adults involved in this situation really need to start adulting as soon as they can manage to do so.

If they don't want it to be perceived that PM gave the puppy to Alina, don't hand the puppy to the PM to give to Alina.

I'm probably missing something here but isn't it as simple as - Akita person hands Masaru to Alina. Alina (quietly and with dignity befitting her station) freaks out with joy. Putin and Abe beam with national pride and smile benevolently in the background. Masaru looks fluffy and adorable. If Yume is there she pouts about being upstaged as the most important Akita in Russia.

A million pictures are taken. Media asks lots of brilliant questions - ("Masaru means victory! Is this name inspired by your Olympic victory? Yes! Wow, this is brand new information!)

Flags are waved, hands are shaken, gifts are exchanged, Akita people are thanked profusely by Alina, her family (I hope they are there), Putin, Abe and everyone else. Fans are pleased. Alina and Masaru are blissful in their own little world. Iriska plots an overthrow of the puppy regime. The chinchillas wait.....
