Alina Zagitova

The great advantage to the small apartment situation is that Masaru will be very easy to supervise at all times. This is key! Maybe Alina's parents will evacuate the stuffed animals (and anything else they don't want chewed) to their home in Izhevsk to make room for dog toys.

Alina's fans can throw doggie chew toys onto the ice when she skates :)

The British Eurosport announcer....

Hello???? This is madness!!!!

The fans are throwing hundreds of rubber fire hydrants at Alina ZAG-eee-tova :dance2:

My favorite were back in the day when they said her name with inflection on the ZagiTOva.

I’d think, come on guys how hard can it be? (But, hey, people can’t say Virtue and Moir right either).

Now, I haven’t heard anyone say her name wrong since during the Olympics.

Honestly sometimes it's because people really don't spot the difference in the accent. My native language is a Slavic language too, but my Portuguese boyfriend can't spot the accent for the life of him. Like, he'd say "uBAva" and I'd repeat "Ubava" and he'd be like "that's exactly what I said"

Oh - I made a mistake - I meant the one you showed

I think one week he pronounced it right and the next week the ZagiTOva way.

That way he had all his bases covered.

Can't fault them though because they were always huge champions of her :hap10:

Anyway - next season I vote that they call her "The Divine Miss ZEEEE"

Masaru is "just hanging around"

I always thought you were supposed to support a dog's backside and legs

like Alina does in this picture....

but who am I to argue with the Akita-Inu society.

Good God Masaru is already bigger than Irska! :eeking:

Is that anyway to hold a female puppy dog? Lol! How un lady like. :disagree:

To both your points: I’ve had Labradors all my life and they were huge puppies. If I was forced to carry them I’d carry like this just because it was easier.

Edited to add: Alina has some strong arms, that’s for sure. Masaru will be part of her training (should work for core strength too). [emoji1320]

Yes Alinas arms will get a good workout lifting Masaru. I hope this doesnt hurt Alinas brilliant arm positions. ;)

Maybe it will make her Tanos and Rippons even better. The Masaru work out for Figure Skaters, Alina could patent it.

I almost missed this!

I was thinking first - Brian Orser

Then I realized it THE Brian!!!!

That should go into the thread "You know you're a figure skating fan when..." (...you mistake jewish involuntary prophet for canadian coach)

Thank you.

Alina & Masaru workout.

1) Alina walks Masaru back and forth to the rink twice a day.

2) Alina bench-presses Masaru ---> 3 sets of 10 reps.

Lol I think too that's a really strage way to hold a dog. But Masaru doesn't seem bothered, she's just...Masaru

That would be something. Yesterday I was re-watching the GPF and I remember that the commentator was criticising other skater's Tanos and Rippons, and then he saw Alina's program and said..."And yes, if you want to make Tanos, that's the way to do it". And my heart has just melted, like..right, right? they are sooo beautiful :luv17:
