Alina Zagitova

This is great!

Alina's mother, Leysan, says Masaru will be like a third daughter for their family. :luv17:

Best news of all - Alina says she will make a separate social media page to post pictures and updates on Masaru! :yahoo:

This pleases me! The only slightly disappointing thing about being an Alina fan is her very uninterested approach to becoming more famous and getting more social media attention. On one hand, I'm super proud, she's a smart girl to protect herself and her privacy from social media craziness. On the other hand, I'm like - seriously? Not even one selfie of you and the puppy? :sad21:

After rewatching trying to see Iriska - Get. The. Backpack. Off. The. Floor.

:laugh2: this

On the next morning video (interview at the park) Alina has the world's largest log with her for Masaru to use as a chew toy, she surely got her first crash course into dog chewing capabilities the day before.

Don't we already see a lot of coverage about her private live? We have seen her almost everything... her apartment, family, sleeping bed..even her toilet bowl. From time to time, she would board cast live. I think her privacy has been exposed quite well. If she is so low key, she might be regretted telling the media about her wanting of Akita dog. It now becomes a Hugh political show....Instead of quietly adopting a dog from other source. I think she may start getting used to satisfying the media needs.

She's an introvert, it's been clear for a long time, she can not deny people, but I think that it's not very easy for her. it is especially noticeable that it is easier for her with familiar people, children, pets , at meetings and conversations with adults she is lost.
Reg Instagram-probably better one good photo once a week than, like others - went to the toilet, 10 photos posted

Teamzagitova on Instagram was livestreaming ...

Thank you so much! I just watched the video and it's so impressive! Alina is a superstar, so loved and appreciated. And she really deserves it [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]

This is true. I am grateful that the Japanese media have been so extremely generous in promoting Alina in such a positive light. And there is absolutely an advantage to Alina being low key - she wasn't over-exposed immediately after the Olympics.
Her popularity has been more of a slow burn. One Russian commercial, one Japanese magazine cover, a few Japanese tv shows and interviews. Nothing extreme.

It's weird how quickly popularity can become too much of a 'good' thing. You go from being the 'IT' girl to the person everyone is so sick of seeing everywhere and reading about. :( It's not fair, but it is what it is. Alina definitely avoided that.

She's getting a ton of attention and a hero's welcome in her hometown right now but that is to be expected. They've had to wait a long time to acknowledge and celebrate her Olympic victory. Good for them, and her family, and her!

She talked about her Phantom program

I used Instagram’s own translation feature to read it.

Alina made it clear about her great coach, didnt she? I hope Eteri appreciates such loyalty from Alina especially after Zhenya and Polina left her.

Yup, she sure did, loud and proud.

I have to admit I was a bit, alright a lot, surprised at the question. So late in the game to ask about that, she’s even been training and has a new program with her team, but oh well, media always wants to stir the pot.

Lol I did not know about it until now. Thanks a lot [emoji3] It really helped me cuz I am not at home and translating on the phone can be quite tricky. [emoji4]

You’re welcome!! That feature is such a lifesaver, with Alina it has become my go to tool.

The media always plays games.

She is so wise beyond her 16 years.

Her answers always seem to be well-thought and concise.

Wanting to "pay it forward" with the masterclasses - so other kids will become interested in figure skating.

Also glad to see she is keeping the same elements in her SP (which I assume means the lutz-loop combo is still there!)

EdRoz earlier said that she is basically an introvert, which is probably true.

But every interview, TV appearance, etc... I have seen her do since Olympics - she has handled herself brilliantly and I think it is because she is always true to herself. She doesn't need to invent some "persona" to become popular.

Good example of that - her genuine look of  when "Fake Hanyu" made his appearance on the Japanese game show. Pure TV Gold and so unforced.

A shy person is usually well worth the effort it takes in getting to know them.
