Not sure why everyone is surprised by her eyebrows. If you see her nails in videos you can tell she experiments with some more of the more trendy/non traditional trends. And full eyebrows are pretty on trend at the moment. More power to her as a normal 16 year old who wants to try out different looks.

I don’t like this idea that she “owes” her fans to look a certain way. When performing there are expectations about make-up/style choices but not in her personal life. And clearly I would hope she doesn’t post herself to social media wearing anything overly sexualized as she is still a teenager and has young fans looking up to her, but even then it’s her choice (well to a degree, parents still have a say). Otherwise her body, make-up/clothing choices belong to her and she doesn’t owe the fans anything. Although I think it’s fair for fans to discuss opinions about her choices (e.g. I’m not digging the dark eyebrow look) within reason.

Same here. About Alina's eyebrows I have one single thing to point out: when I was 16, I painted my eyebrows purple and I thought it was trendy So her eyebrows are waaay beter than mine at the same age.

I am surprised to hear people worry about her sleeHping with make up after watching the clip from the Japanese show. We should know by now many things we saw are staged for the taste of the audience. Japanese are crazy for cute girl and part of Alina does fit the bill in that respect. It is the custom of these Japanese shows to expose or to some degree exaggerate the aspect for marketing needs. The image of cutie Alina sells really well and you are going to see a lot of that, whether that is the true reflection of Alina's character is different story.

I read a translated version of an interview with Alina’s first coach and she said Alina “has a temper”. Not sure if the translation is accurate but if so, not always just cutie cutie then. Baby boss indeed! [emoji23]

Thats what I mean by "part of Alina's character fit the bill of being cute", obvious not totally, she is human being after all.. Her cutie act is more for the Japanese TV program.

To the point about Alina having been considered for pairs.

I remember that TV Show about Eteri, the one that featured Diana talked about her hearing.

Anyway Eteri mentioned laughing that she didn’t make it as a single skater, then didn’t make it as a pair skater and was now coaching. Then she said to Diana, it’s not a problem if you can’t get your jumps there are other things you can do.

Alina apparently was not a natural jumper, so before she got her jumps they were considering her for pairs (she has the right size). I’ve seen how she progressed with jumping but considering her current ease with it it’s hard to believe she had to work as hard as she did for them. She makes it look effortless.

Maybe the business reasoning here is: you can jump well, go to singles, can’t jump so well but is athletic, go to oairs, can’t jump so well, but has great rhythm, go to Ice Dance.

I think Alina could do really well in Pairs by the way.

Eteri was joking about moving Diana to ice dancing which is actually less physically demanding than single/pair skating. Alina was considered for pairs, but it probably had nothing to do with her performance as a single.
