2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Is this official or is it just to determine funding levels? Because really, Panenkova guaranteed a GP and in practice likely to get 2 and Gubanova likely to get the host spot, why would you hold them back? I'm praying it's just about funding. Because Konstantinova in main team?? Really?

Turns out I was too late, haha. Still find it weird with Gubanova and Panenkova. It doesn‘t make sense at all. Trusova and Kostornaya and Sherbakova. They have no chance. Whereas in seniors: Zhenya and Alina. They could be competing for Russian #3. Weird, really, really weird.

To determine funding levels. It is better to be on the main Junior team that Senior reserve. Doesn't mean much with regard to who will get what GP events and such.

Thank you!! So I think that Gubanova and Panenkova will both their GPs after all, just on junior funding levels...
Also wow Radionova on reserve team and did Leonova finally get kicked off?

However, Gubanova was 6th in nats, so she is in the main team anyway. I do not quite understand the intensions of those who made this list.

The only GP Gubanova can get is a host spot at Rostelecom. I am not sure if that will happen, we'll see. Panenkova should definitely get 2 GP spots.
Radionova didn't really do enough in the past season to be on the main team. And funding is tight right now, you can see by the team numbers shrinking. No Kovtun or Pogorilaya - you (essentially) don't compete for a season and you are out.

Well yeah, it is only the host spot, but I think she'll get it for two reasons: nationals placements and her new coach
I guess you're right, but wasn't Pogorilaya in reserve? Interesting how Tuktamysheva being below Gubanova at nationals and just a spot above Panenkova puts her on the senior main team but not them. Hmm, guess it's the funding. They CAN get junior spots I guess but Tuktamysheva can't
Polina's in the main team, right?

Wait, Gubanova is still staying in Juniors?? WTH??

I can't wait to see her not sent to Junior Worlds ... again :palmf:

Yes, Anna is on the reserve, I guess she should be thankful she at least got that. The ladies team used to be bigger, especially the reserve, now there are only three people on it.
Polina is on the main team, of course.

Thanks.

Something else: Can anyone explain why on earth Konstantinova is still on the main team over Gubanova and Panenkova? How, just how ??
She was above them at both Junior and Senior Nationals, she went to JW while they didn't.

Erm, yes and she also went to senior Worlds and bombed there. Gubanova and Panenkova could both have had a chance to medal at JW... Oh my, I‘m not saying anything else. I‘m just a bit ... angry right now.

You could not even imagine how angry I was on Junior Nationals, when I was already sure Gubanova would take the third spot, after clean 2 performances, nothing was gonna change it...And what we have!!! Now, it would be a huge mistake for them to leave Nastya in juniors.

Could someone please help me to understand this? My Russian isn't good.

With regard to the junior ladies I see the first section. Vasilieva, Gubanova, Kostornaya, Panenkova, Samodurova, Trusova. I assume this is the main team.

On down there is another section. Kanysheva, Tarakanova, Tarusina. Are these the junior reserves?

Go down even more there is another section. Sinitsyna, Chistakova, Scherbakova. What is this?

There is yet another section below. Akatieva, Moroz, Frolova. What is this Advanced Novice?

Thanks in advance for your help.

As I understand it.

Senior:

Main: Alina Zagitova, Stanislava Konstantinova , Evgenia Medvedeva, Maria Sotskova, Polina Tsurskaya, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva
Reserve: Anna Pogorilaya , Elena Radionova, Serafima Sakhanovich

Junior (13-21):

Main: Viktoria Vasilieva (Nov. 2003), Anastasiia Gubanova (Dec. 2002), Alena Kostornaia (Aug. 2003), Daria Panenkova (Dec. 2002), Sofia Samodurova (Jul. 2002), Alexandra Trusova (Jun. 2004),
Reserve: Anastasia Gulyakova (Aug. 2002), Anastasia Kostyuk (May. 2004), Valeria Mikhailova (Feb. 2002)

Girls (11-19):

Main: Alena Kanysheva (Jun. 2005), Anastasia Tarakanova (Apr. 2004), Anna Tarusina (Jan. 2003),
Reserve: Ksenia Sinitsyna (Aug. 2004), Ksenia Chistyakova (May. 2005), Anna Shcherbakova (Mar. 2004)

Each band will get a different level of funding. Senior A has most, then Junior A, and so on. It seems that for Junior A they simply picked the top 6 girls from junior nationals and then swapped Konstantinova (who has a place on the senior team) for Samodurova (who is senior eligible this year). It seems they are using the Junior A Band as a place to store newly senior eligible skaters until they prove themselves as worthy of the main team. The next two ranked girls from junior nationals - Tarakanova and Kanysheva - were put in the Girls A category along with Tarusina ( winner of Russian Nationals Elder Age). I am not sure how they decided which girls were junior reserves and which were girl reserves but I think it is to do with age and amount of competition experience.
