Ah, all those edges calls that never get made....

I guess they got blinded by hate when they didn't see that combo come to fruition :laugh2:

That is just one example I always have in my mind if someone comes up with the argument "but but but her PCS was too high!!!!"

It cuts both ways --- and then some.

In the end - all was "good in the hood" :rock: and that is all that matters.

But the problem would be if she missed a combo like the long program at Olympics - she would no longer have a solo jump left to add the loop onto as the solo jumps were done in the first half of the program.

She would have to let go of the bonus but she could still do it (bonus now will apply to last 3 jumps, as opposed to all jumps now).

So she could still place say, 4 of them on the second half: 3 combos and one single, only last 3 will get bonus, she might lose the best bonus opportunities if the wheels come off the bus but she'll get the combo in (and if that newly placed combo remains one of the last 3 it will get bonus on it).

Or am I crazy and math has fried my brain? :rofl:

I’m not sure if that makes sense. If so, the first combo will simply not get bonus-ed ever. I think they’re just not going to allow any more than three passes in the second half.

Well actually I don’t know haha

3s = 4.3
2a = 3.3
2a = 3.3
2lz = 2.1
———————
3lz+3lo = 11.88
3lz+3lo = 11.88

3f+3t+2lo = 12.32

According to the updated BVs, the total will be 49.08.

See - now this is something that has bugged me for a while about what is "allowed".

ISU is so concerned about well-balanced - but they allow the same 3-3 combos to be repeated!!!!

They would probably be OK with 3T-3T being repeated too (accessible to many more skaters) but there's that pesky "Zayak Rule" :bang:

Your calculations are actually the best.

I'm still trying to understand what Japan was doing with a proposal like that in hand in the first place (they are the only other ones with current skaters that could pull off full back loading). Guys!!! Step away from the light!!!

Too late now anyway.

Guess Alina could have Plan A (3 combos as last three jumping passes), if the wheels come of the bus she can go to Plan B (first combo will become a solo jump, less bonus value because it has less BV, and then two combos) but still a Lz all on its lonesome under the new BV would get a BV with bonus of 6.49 (as opposed to the 6.60 that it got with bonus before).

Yes, math has fried my brain. I will now proceed to audit the elections :laugh2:

Alina should aquire a time machine.

If she misses one of the 3 combos in the 2nd half of the program all she has to do is go back to the first half and add a triple loop onto one of the solo jumps.

Well - that makes as much sense as some of the stuff the ISU comes up with.

Plan C: if the wheels come off the bus, sic Masaru on the Judges (and TV cameras) and while they are distracted (pointed upward) do 8 jumping passes.

Will jumping with Masaru over her head get her more GOE? I guess it depends whether she's holding it with one arm or both.

btw... the actual scores from OWG - the solo 3lz GOE - I know that was supposed to be the combo - but WAY TOO LOW :mad:
Yes, that was 0.50(? ). The landing wasn't that secure thus the low goe. But I've seen jumps with less quality score higher GOEs. On positive side, her solo lutz in the team event scored +2.

Wait...so that means Alina’s whole program could be 3lz+3lo??? Jk, she wouldn’t do that. I’m confused - my imbecile 15 year old brain can’t keep up [emoji23]

what do you mean? did i miss something? or isu congress was made exclusively to devalue everything which can help Alina to fairly win?
I think it got the highest reduction in value (of the triples) so yeah. Idk but it feels like the objective of this whole congress was to somehow get rid (of her advantages) of what sets her apart from other skaters.I can't wait to see all skaters do a 4-3 layout :yawn:
