Anna Pogorilaya

Anna makes her appearance and the swans of Versailles hide their faces in their feathers ... come on dears swans, nothing to be ashamed of. She is not that much more beautiful than you are.

Yes she is!

And the graphic on this photo sums up what I think any time I see her:

Not too sure about the choice of glasses, though. They make me think of Dame Edna Everage...

Seriously, after all the stories we have been hearing about her injury problems, it is so good to see her out and about enjoying herself away from it all.

Thank you to Andrey for making our girl so happy.  :points:

So so happy to see Anna skate again!:love::love: https://www.instagram.com/p/BjIZz5mAByI Love this song Dark Times by Ed Sheeran. Maybe Anna found the inspiration from her own dark time.

So good to see her back on ice, she surely was missed at least for me... Looking with same passion and intensity in her movement, but at the same time a little different - I just hope that regardless of her competitive future, she found balance and peace for herself. And that she will continue to skate, if that makes her happy and fulfilled.

Anyone knows if she will compete again? I like this music for her

You're sure not the only one who would like to know that. If she wasn't from Russia, we wouldn't have to ask this question. But her chances to get to the Russian team will diminish every year, so who knows if she's willing to go for it again...

I don't think so.... at least this year ... Medvedeva , alina are sure but the 3 spot is a open field ....

Indeed, and Anna has always had a funny way of nabbing Russia #3 even when the odds seem against her. Unlike the girls who seem most likely to contend against her, she is a World and European medalist, so if she's fully recovered I'd say she has as much of a chance at the 3rd spot as Sotskova or Tsurskaya. If Tukt or Radio miraculously recover their jumps things might get a bit tougher. The real question is if she will get GP assignments, the result of which could greatly affect her national team chances later on.

I haven't heard anything about Anna performing at Fantasy on ice even though she's in the cast. Does anyone know if she skated in Makuhari and what program she had chosen to perform in the show?

Fantasy on Ice is a tour. Last year Anna was in the first shows and not in the later shows. She kind of 'replaces' Medvedeva in the opposite order to last year. Makuhari and Kanazawa are the first two stop with Med, then it's Kobe, Niigata and Shizuoka with Anna from mid-June.

Yeah I know it's a tour. I just couldn't figure when she is skating. Thanks for the information.

To be precise she's scheduled to appear from the first show in Kobe on the 15th of June. The last show in Shizuoka is on 1st of July. I'm not entirely sure, but I think some of the shows she's at (9 altogether) will be televised. I didn't look into that, the skaters I'm interested in (Anna, S/M) are all skating at the later shows, so idk what happened so far.

Finally we got some good news!

She has started training for the next season under the supervision of the doctors and has restored all her triples including the lutz and can do +1L + 3S combo :yahoo:(no 3Lz + 3T yet). Can't wait to see her skate on FAOI in a week! And she's also gonna teach a master class that will be filmed and uploaded to InSkate app https://www.instagram.com/p/Bjm_iC1AN8d/.

Best luck to our most beautiful Anna and may skating God be with you for next season and beyond! :luv17:

On one hand I'm glad she wants to continue, but then I'm so scared for her. I just can't be selfish with her, I just want her to be healthy.

Yes I am also torn -- but at least she will be training under strict medical supervision, as she certainly was not before. Hopefully they have learned to be more careful. I'm just praying at this point she gets a GP invite or two, even though I know it's unlikely. I don't think she'll make it out of Russia in December if she doesn't put up a very strong showing ahead of nats. At the very least, I want her to do some challengers! I have a lot of hope for her to do interesting things this season -- if her programs are TBD, maybe that means she's ditched her swan program. Either way though, I'm glad she's able to keep doing what she loves. I will have to pray doing what she loves doesn't harm her body any further. Much love for Anya, can't wait to see FaOI!

I would wish her to keep the short - I thought it had great potential.

Anyway, I'm glad that she's back - and even gladder that it is under strict medical supervision. It's good that her injury is taken seriously at last. Good to hear.
