Alina Zagitova

So for everyone who was worried that Alina is too soft and she won't be able to make Masaru listen to her...Here she comes and proves them wrong. Gotta love this girl

I was one of those worriers and she has so proven me wrong! She is so calm and in control and Masaru is attentive and focused and so relaxed. Clearly being well taken care of and getting plenty of exercise. I love that Iriska is in charge! :)

So nice to see Alina looking beautiful, happy and enjoying herself.

Maybe Alina is getting some tips from Iriska...

Oh to be a small fly in that household, must be fun.

Loves to see her with Masaru, it's great that she shared that video. Keep 'em coming.

If she would share a video of Iriska and Masaru interacting it would make my entire day! :)

Does Masaru understand Japanese and Russian? She’s a bilingual puppy.

Understanding two languages and soon figure skating....Masaru is just so smart.

And a charmer, she is already the queen of Novogorsk, I bet Alina's room is the official hang out place after training is done.

:laugh2:

(we ought to tell the non-Russian speakers that 'myasorubka' means 'meat grinder')

Cool! Did she say “Masaru, come here” at the start? Or am I hearing what I wanna hear and it was sthg in Russian?

Could be, it sounded like it a lot, which is my way of saying that I thought so too.

Or maybe it’s just some “dog speak command” that sounds like English.

Edited to add: damn it is dog command for come, this website will be out best future friend http://www.russiandog.net/russian-dog-commands

According to my trusty linguist friend, a.k.a. Google translate, the words for “come here” and simply “come” sound way different than what she says.

Edited to add: Google translate go sit in the corner!

OK - I just downloaded the video clip and played it back at a slower speed.

To me she is definitely saying "Masaru Come Here" and the words have the same inflection as when I have heard other Russians speak English - in particular Evgenia who has given a lot of interviews in English (the "h" sound in here is a perfect example).

edited to add info....

Then she clearly says "Sit", but I cannot make out what the next command is :scratch2:

BTW - I love her voice and look forward to her learning more English.
