Anyone that stops being her fan because of her break with Eteri wasn’t really a great fan of hers anyway.

I understand what you're trying to say, thing is, the decrease in fanbase Trankov is commenting is due to Evgenia secretly saying to Eteri about keeping Alina in juniors to let her win and because of the way Evgenia broke up with her: earlier claims of staying and great bond between them, not answering Eteri's calls and text messages, secret negotiations with BOrser, calling Canada her home etc., rather than breaking up itself.

If both, her Olympic behaviour and post-Olympic departure were more classy and honest (in fans' eyes at least), I think there would be no problem for most of Evgenia's Russian fanbase. Splitting up ways between an athlete and a coach has not been uncommon event in Russia after all.

Apparently Alina is skating to Carmen in her FS I hate Carmen and I hate that Alina is stuck with two warhorses. I was okay with POTO but Carmen is honestly my least favorite warhorse

I dunno, I like both Poto and Carmen (not always) so I actually wanna see first.

I mean, it could be really good choreography ofc but I just hate Carmen. It’s some of my least favorite music ever. I just can’t stomach it and I think bc they gave her a warhorse SP they could have avoided using 2... especially if one of them is Carmen lol. I hate it so much

Oh my god. No. Please say you‘re joking. I was hoping for something... original, or at least not TWO warhorses in ONE season. We already have POTO, I can handle this but Carmen, too?

So far, Alina is the only to use POTO, and nobody claimed Carmen either across all 4 disciplines. Kinda hope that it will not be that commond, and we will not have 3 of the same in a row.

Also, chances are she is just having fun or that is some sort of "make choreo on the fly" exercise.

I don't think it's Carmen, because the choreography she was doing looked exactly like her Black Swan choreo. I think they're just making fun of Danil, as if to say, "this choreo is so amazing, it goes with anything!"

If it's instrumental Carmen, I like it. I guess people hate warhorses because they're popular but at least it's not pop or other gaudy music with lyrics. :agree: Everything that manages to dodge songs with singing is a triumph for me.

Warhorses are only bad when everybody suddenly does it.
Like a few seasons ago we had 3 programs of the same IN A ROW at some competition. If there are no other top ladies skating to Carmen, I am entirely fine with it.

Another thing: if Gubanova didn't get any spot, is she going to try for the host spot, or stay junior? I hope she does the first one, because as talented as she may be, I don't want her taking away the spots of other skaters who are more of a junior age and are eager to debut this year. As it is, Kanysheva and/or Sinitsyna are running out of luck. Russia needs to start hosting JGP's because even just one more spot will be good for them....
Also, I guess we need to know what on earth is up with Tarakanova. I don't want her to not be around this season but her not competing for some awful reason is the only way I'd be okay with Gubanova being a junior AGAIN. I'm still hoping they can get their act together and give everyone enough sppots for the final. At least they can't stick Konstantinova around randomly, Samodurova and Panenkova have moved up, and Fedichkina is unlikely to go out of Russia.
Trusova, Shcherbakova, Kostornaya, Tarakanova (if she competes, if not, Gubanova), Tarusina, and Kanysheva/Sinitsyna are my picks for the JGPF

1. I hope Carmen for Alina is a joke. As somebody said above: 1 warhorse is ok but 2 are hard to swallow.
2. I wonder who will get Rostelecom home spot. Will it be Gubanova? I can't really see her staying one year longer in juniors. Anna Pogorilaya? She has no spot and giving one to her would actually show that RusFed didn't give up on her completely. Or maybe they will choose Sofia and give her second GP spot.

I think that that's when it's most interesting, though. Then you can really compare the skaters and the choreo if the music cut's the exact same. It happens rarely enough and when it does, it gives me something additional to look for.

Gubanova can’t stay in junior again!! Please don’t make this happen! I want her as a senior... And did the JGP get out today, too? Because I really want to know what’s up with Tarakanova. And especially who’s skating at the one in Austria because if any Russian lady’s there, I’ll get myself some tickets!

Don‘t forget about Masha/Elena/Liza! Let‘s make this an all Russian finale! ( + Kostner!)
