Alina Zagitova

Yes, one program will be fully frontloaded and the other fully backloaded.

Yea I like this choice  This way we'll have...Balaaance, as people are so obsessed with it

On another note, and after two good night sleeps (and motivational posts from our friend, lusk8), I can say I came to even like the idea of Carmen, because from them all, Alinka will be amazing at portraying this character. She's beautiful, she's graceful and her skating catches immediately your attention, just like Carmen is. The background is a little bit similar with Don Quijote, but really, her Don Quijote was memorable, so she has all the tools to make a memorable Carmen, too. It will be a hard season, with 2 (or 3?) new programs, new rule changes and so on, so I think her team made the smart decision, that'll help her both win, and further develop her own artistical style. She is only 16, she has plenty of time to try all different types of programs. Yes, we wanted something different, and that's fine, in the future we'll receive this for sure, but this is exactly what Alinka needed. So I agree with anything that's better for her. Now I'm looking forward to watch her new programs.:luv17:

There's nothing wrong with disliking a music choice. Yes, this is a fanfest, and I'm sure all posters love Alina, but many can't stomach her doing POTO and Carmen (even worse IMO) and it's fine to express the disappointment.

Oops, I think it came across wrongly. I should have quoted here but was too lazy, haha. I didn‘t mean the users on this forum but those on fs.universe (or whatever it‘s called) Someone sent a link in and the comments about Alinka were... not so nice. That’s what my post was about not any of you here, I’m sorry that it came across wrongly. And expressing disappointment is totally fine. To be honest, I was disappointed as well and to a degree, still am. I hate POTO and especially Carmen with a passion. But well, I‘m trying to motivate myself with the fact that Alina apparently loves the music and if she does, it will show on the ice and maybe this will make it better for us. As for now, I trust in Daniil and Alinka to pull two good and memorable (despite the music) programs together! :)

I’m part of the team that was disappointed with Carmen, but now I’m working to like the idea too. and now I just think will be so awesome when Alina slay this program in front of everybody and every critics. And after all, Daniil will come up with some cuts and original music like he did with Black Swan (my hope). I’m curious to see the layout of the jumps (!!!!!!), the costume (!!!!), the hair, makeup, everything. I just miss Alina so much (her Instagram lives, or even pictures on her Instagram feed...)

Autograph session with Alina Zagitova is postponed to July 22 :sarcasm: On the basis of the Moscow Mayor's order, mass events are banned in the city on weekends. Strong storms are approaching Moscow, the Hermitage Garden will be closed for the event. :drama:It's a pity, I thought that we would see new photos and videos

To be honest ... I don't like zagitova as carmen ... last year there was 2 good carmen's ... gabby daleman and in pairs Stolbova/Klimov ... it's a women piece .. will be a second D. Quixote ...

Zagitova is going to reinvent Carmen and make us forget all other Carmen's that have come before her! Get excited!

I wasn't thrilled when I first heard she was getting Carmen AND POTO, but I think she will make a great Carmen. I've always thought the Habanera music suits someone with lots of detailed transitions, which we know Alina does very well ;). Also the clip of her performing it is quite nice. I'm excited to see it! I am more skeptical about POTO, but then again, I know Eteri and Danil are both very smart about choreography and programs. I doubt Alina chose these programs herself. I think this is a very conscious choice by her coaching team to set Alina up for victory in the future

Exactly [emoji173][emoji173] It will be awesome [emoji4]
I think that here we'll always be happy positive Team Alinka. Our own happy place [emoji4][emoji4]

She could do so much better than Phantom and Carmen but whatever. Is the video on YouTube of her Phantom the real music?

I was inclined to agree with you, but it is growing on me. I think Eteri knows what she is doing and I think Daniil is genuinely inspired to reinvent two old classics for Alina.

No idea about the music.

And apparently this is the perfect timing for 'what's old is new again' because DAISUKE TAKAHASHEI is coming back! Yes, I know, :otopic: but

I think Eteri team always think in terms of strategy. POTO and Carmen have something in common: they are two classics. maybe the strategy of the team is exactly this: reinvent these two choices with original and fresh programs to mark Alina’s transition to the senior level now as Olympic Champion. After all, she is only 16 now, and has so much to prove to all these who say that she is weak in terms of artistic/interpretation.
Alina herself said after Milan that she wants to show more “adult skating”. I think they are working to increase Alina’s PCS next season and that’s why they want POTO and Carmen. (although I think there are other options but it’s better not to think about it now and accept and move on)
