Just checked how juniors are doing in terms of views.
Now tell me once again that people want to see "mature" skating. No. People want to see phenoms. Like Sasha.

All of the top FS videos of singles on the Youtube-US are of Yuna Kim, Yuzuru Hanyu - (top 2 in combined viewcount), Lipnitskaia, Medvedeva, Plushenko, Nagasu, Yagudin, Zagitova, Cohen, Gold, Harding(lol), etc... I don't even see Trusova... (looking forward to her as a senior, though!)

Maybe they want both? Maybe they want the diversity of a beautiful sport that offers both athleticism and art at the same time? Maybe they want jumping phenoms as juniors who grow into young women as they go through puberty in a healthy way and end up happy and content and are able to show that newfound maturity in their skating?

But who knows what „people“ want. I only know that this is what I myself wish for every skater, every girl, every prodigy, every wonder and phenomenon. To grow up in a healthy way and be happy and be able to portray that on the ice. Because that‘s the most beautiful kind of skating. When the skater is happy. That‘s what makes Sasha‘s quads so exciting to watch. She isn‘t pushed to do this, she LOVES it. That‘s why her spirit is so mesmerizing. Phenomenons are shortlived. They’re a prodigy for a while until the next young one shows up. Sasha made history with her quads. But in the long run, personally, I do not care about quads or 3A‘s on these girls. They should be happy. And as long as they are, no one should care what „people“ want to see or don‘t.

Agreed. The best skaters are to my mind at least, those who manage to combine athleticism with artistry. That‘s what figure skating should be about.

It's not fact, it's assumption.

I think Zhenya wanted a complicated program to fight against Zagitova, but Eteri did not agree with her. Eteri thought that was enough to win. Therefore, there was a such reaction of both of them in the K&C.

I think also Eteri wanted to be the Olympic champion's coach very much, and she did not want to risk with two sportsmen. Having a risky Zagitova's program, she did not allow Medvedeva to have a risky program. This became a point of no return and the subsequent events.

I was at test skates. While Zhenya's SP was a masterpiece even back then she was not her own self with leftovers. I hoped because it was still work in progress but there were talks that she was injured. Anyway she never could skate clean with a harder layout. So much for backloading can be done by anyone and they don't do it just for the sake of balanced programs..

I dreamed that it was test skates. Zhenya's SP was some tango music and Zhenya's FS was her usual Averbukh style.
Too much FS for me.

Interesting so many people love Yulia's flexibility. But when they have chance to see how the Russians do it with the children many of them are so outraged. That was a hard work in Yulia's childhood despite to Yulia was more flexible in general probably.

She will become #1 Latvian female skater hands down if she switch her citizenship. But will it help her to win against Eteri quad squad? No.
Will it help her to become more popular? I don't think so. I think her chances to be invited to various shows will decrease in that case.

So I think there isn't any cunning plan to switch citizenship. She loves that man and there is no sense in making assumption she is going to switch that's why.

No, they were earlier. Now we have to wait patiently. RuFed has a habit of changing junior ladies assignments just in a few days before the competition. My bet Trusova will be assigned to the first JGP like it was in the previous year.
