Leftover was 1+6 and she was clean at the Nepala Trophy (3lz e did she also with the 2+5 layout). So it´s wrong to say she coulnd´t pull it off, there is no proof of that.

I do not think that is what Zhenya and Eteri thought in September last year with a PCS from Alina at 32 and 68. Anna Karenina was the programm what she wanted, to be consistent was in my opinion not the reason for the change. She simply liked Karenina more.

I don't remember exactly who are in the list of the national and reserve team for this season, but I guess they will be assigned to first JGPs and depending on they results the will see if any of the other girls gets a chance. That was the case last year.

Okay. I might have remembered this wrongly. If that‘s the case I‘m sorry. :) But they must have had a reason for changing the jump layout from a more difficult one to an easier one, though. It‘s not about the program or that she liked it better, I can perfectly understand this but there was no reason to change the combinations. Even if she didn‘t make it a backloaded program, I don‘t get why she‘d change the 3F-2T-2T to a 2A-2T-2T considering that her 3F is a lot better than her 2A and she could get better GOEs with it. But well, they must have had a reason considering neither Zhenya or Eteri do anything without thinking it through...

About the thing with Alina‘s PCS. I think Evgenia at least realised what was coming at her. I don‘t think she didn‘t think of Alina as a potential rival just because her PCS weren‘t that high yet. She knew that Alina had just come from juniors and given a few consistent, clean skates, this score’d quickly rise, too. Furthermore, she was training next to her everyday, seeing the more difficult jumps Alina managed to pull off. Evgenia is clever. I don‘t think she underestimated Alina at all which would have been very stupid to do, in fact. What she couldn‘t have thought of was the injury, though, which is one of the reasons Alina‘s PCS even rose so quickly in the first place. That‘s when things started to go really wrong for her. But well, this is over now and things have went the way they did. And Evgenia‘s happy now so talking about „what could have been“ and „what should she have done“ and „what did Eteri wrong to make Zhenya lose“ is like crying over spilled milk. She said it herself. „She did everything she could.“ We should believe her. And she didn‘t say anything bad about Eteri either so acting like her loss was Eteri‘s fault isn‘t quite right. Let‘s focus on the future instead. :)

I totally agree. Zhenya seems to have embraced her new home and they certainly embraced her. She's happy in Canada and that's most important. :agree:

For those who are feeling a bit concerned about the caps, I'd like to point out that there are American and Russia flags in the IG post...

I'm glad Zhenya was courteous while taking in Canada Day celebrations and wore a hat...(but stopped short of the face painting....which is common here in their age group.. .)

This IG post to me is everything that figure skating should represent and should be, in fact, everything that this world should be. I also loved the IG story where Jason said that Zhenya made him honk his horn and stop for the car with Russian flags and Jason learning the chant for the Russian soccer team from Zhenya and her mom. Zhenya is spreading pride in her country wherever she goes. :)

I am generally indifferent to ladies’ skating and these posts are making me care more. Isn’t that a great thing as well:agree:

That‘s exactly what I think. Zhenya is a very worldly person. She has one and only one home country - Russia. And she‘s proud of it and not afraid to show it. But that doesn‘t mean she can‘t have friends or work with people from all over the world or travel to and live in different places. Kudos to Zhenya for her being so openminded and happy to experiment yet still so vocal about her own culture. :thumbsup:
 
I don't think a cap is such a big deal. I was wearing "Canada" t-shirt in Toronto and what? Doesn't make me a canadian.
Right now at the world cup foreigners wear russian t-shirts and other stuff, doesn't make them russians either.
I mean i'm also very critical to what Zhenya has done after Olympics, but let's not turn it into a complete ridiculousness

P.S. I wonder does Anna wear latvian cap sometimes? :biggrin:

Ok, so just one month of waiting and then someone nice will hopefully post the junior test skates to YouTube. Just one.......more.........month.....😭😭😭

So, the top priority junior ladies usually get assigned to the first jgp?

The worst is when a senior gets added into the junior group for some random reason and we don’t get to see their programs. I feel like Elena Radionova did that one season.

I'd say the top priority junior lady usually gets assigned to the first jgp. I srsly doubt RuFed will send several girls from Eteri camp to the first JGP.

So Sasha in this case. And yep, this wouldn‘t be wise at all. Let them meet at the JGPF not before that.

Well, that's completely opposite to what she said in her latest interview - that she never felt she has some specific place called "home" which, for her, is wherever she and close people are. After that she spoke about "beautiful Toronto" and "hope for changes", so it's clear she treats Canada as her new home.

I think she treats Canada as her residence and Russia as her true home
