I always wanted to see more skaters doing one-foot challenges. Of course, skating skills are not only about be able to skate through the pegs, but it's still quite interesting to compare. It looks like freestyle slalom for rollers, and I like that.

Sophie Hernandez has a lot of charisma. I would love to see her develop into a top level international skater.

The other female skater on team Europe for Japan Open will be....drum roll....Carolina Kostner. https://www.instagram.com/p/BlLFn_sjyze

I'm excited for that, this group will have a nice balance of youth and experience. And, if my calculations are correct, this will be the international debut of Alina's new Free Skate (and maybe her EX for the "Carnival on Ice" show that follows this event).

I love the team they've chosen, too And this is so right, it will be the first time we'll see Alina's program in an international comp. I really hope we're gonna find footage with the test skates after they will take place, but anyway we're gonna see her dress only at Japan Open.

It's a "quirk" of mine, but I have never liked videos that put different music to a skater's program. A little too much "artistic" license.

Can't say I'm a fan of those either... Like in this video, it's really hard to have a decent timing This one at least shows the similarity between these 2 themes..some moves can fit both programs, some definetely don't...I think I am lost in the off-season's abyss, imagining the way Carmen is gonna look, and being so impatient to see how it's really gonna be. :hap36:

In my humble opinion the staple of a good program is being timed to the music, that quality alone would make successfully synching a video of it to another music virtually impossible.

As TheBallerina pointed out this “Carmen” exercise serves to show us Alina’s potential to make the new program a great one. She is really suited for this kind of music, her looks, her energy, all of it will work so well for Carmen.
